Not liking where Alonso is going with salary, he turned down a 3/70 but I heard there was like 10-15m in bonuses/incentives. Don't want Alonso at more than 23m/yr. He's not good defensively and the second his power drops, he can't even hit for avg. I wouldn't go higher than what the Mets are offering, doesn't make sense.

He is a very similar total package to Teoscar, just a bit younger. Same AAV more years...

4/88 but you can't go higher than that, he's a DH. He messed up rejecting that 7/158 deal, the Mets are offering him half that now lol

I have no issues giving Alonso a 4/100 and would go as high as 5/125.  Pretty sure he's been trying to get 30M AAV based on reports so he'd have to come down on that for any long term deal.

This team desparately needs power and his down years are better than majority of the league's career years.   He just turned 30 and I have faith that he'll still be able to keep on smashing until the very end.

Tell Alonso and Tony Taters that the first one to sign on the dotted line of their 4 year 80 million dollar contract offer gets the job

Alonso and Guerrero are basically the same player defensively. Guerrero is marginally better at scoops (6 scoops more so like 1-2 runs) over their careers. Alonso is better at getting to balls more than 5 feet away from him and Guerrero is marginally better at balls within 5 feet.

What  I'd like to see if we did get Alonso is getting him for 1B with Vladdy moved to 3B (if he extends) and DHing if he doesn't extend. OAA and DRS said Guerrero was passable at 3B in 2024 albeit with zero range - and a non existent sample size -  so if we're not playing against guys that slap that ball on the ground - especially with our lack of ground ball pitchers, you can probably trade the D for the O on the corners.

You could probably do some sort of platoon where Vlad moves from 3B to 1B/DH depending on the matchup.

Slap hitting team or we have a groundball pitcher on the mound = Clement at 3B, Vlad at 1B, Pete at DH

Flyball pitcher on the mound = Vlad at 3B, Pete at 1B, Wagner at DH
