Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Judge seems to hit more of his HRs with runners on base..
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 That is two plays on defense which would never show up on the box score. Yet, both should have been made. Very lucky it didn’t cost them.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Oh... Berrios... Berrios... Berrios...
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Oh... Berrios... Berrios... Berrios... His defense is not helping him out.
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 The pitching has been more disappointing than the bats this season. I don’t know how they expect to compete next year.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Vladdy is great again, one bright spot.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 What an incredible AB for Horwitz vs a tuff lefty
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Fido stinks:( Think they are overhyping him just a little bit lol.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 Kirk's framing pissing Boone off. elite frame job by Kirk on that low called strike
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Schneider is really struggling.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Vlad was all over that timing wise...just got under it.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Vlad can not be stopped. All the nerds who don't think Vlad deserves 300 mil are ridiculous. 12 years 300 to 320...Just get it done....Knowing the last 3 years might not be pretty is just the cost of doing business with a superstar.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Schneider is really struggling. Little confused why he hasn’t been demoted. He hasn’t hit in months.

harvey16 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 I don't think I've ever seen a hot streak like this even during Vladdys 2021 season. He has basically gone from on OPS in the low .700 in June to and OPS of .930 now. It's conceivable for him to OPS over 1.000 if he keeps upset this pace the rest of the year. He's gonna get paid! I'd be willing to go 8 year/$240M to get him signed. Anything more then 8 years is too risky in my opinion. Still also gives him an opportunity at 1 more big contract after this one. I think it's gonna take $30M AAV on any contract shorter then 10 years. 10+ years you might be able to lower the AAV to around 26-27M. Vladdy doesn't have the body that will age well into his mid to late 30s though.

Yall forgetting Bo’s heater from 2022? 1 crazy heater doesn’t mean he deserves a huge contract, lets wait and see how he finishes the year. And if he can sustain a 150ish wRC+ production next year.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Ok lets relax. 1B don’t get 300 million. Stop. See I was specifically referring to people like you. 1st baseman don't hit free agency at the age Vlad will. He also has league avg sprint speed and a cannon for an arm. He can play left field, he can handle third. They are playing him at 1st. Positional adjustments just overpay short stops and underpay 1st basemen. You should look at how a player compares at his position. There is a massive gap between the avg 1st baseman and Vlad. His bat is elite. Top 5 in the league. He could easily have years where he has the number 1 bat in the league over the life of his contract. You either believe in the bat or you don't.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Vlad having this type of season when the competitive window is closed/closing rather than in 2022-23 is annoying. Fun to watch either way.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 I can’t even tell if this is satire or not I'll make a rather large bet with you that someone will give Vlad 12 years 25 mil a year to hit 300 paying him to his age 38 season. If you want to take the under 300 go ahead. You'll lose that bet.

If you want to take the under 300 go ahead. You'll lose that bet. I’ve lost 2 bets here already from being too optimistic, with my luck i’d lose this bet for being too conservative. And I wouldn’t be willing to wager a “large amount” anyways. Too many variables involved in this game. That being said, I don’t think Vlad gets 300 million unless he repeats his 2021 next year. It could happen, but if im the Blue Jays GM im not risking the future based on how Vlad looks right now. I want to see some consistency with Vlad. Vlad is a big part of why this team has underperformed expectations the past couple years.
