Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Cora emptied out his bench. Used everyone he had. Schneider has a pretty good bench but just doesn’t use it. Barger is a butcher out there. Why not sub Clement in? What would it hurt?
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I missed the first five innings but it seems the Hound had a good night. Good to see. Hopefully this rickety bullpen holds on. We all felt it coming. A four run lead isn't enough with the arms we have. Another quality start pissed away.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Just put Spanky's face on there and we got ourselves a message board meme lol Even Spanky and Max checked out. They just went longer the most. It’s a train wreck. They can’t really fire the manager as the scapegoat again. I’m surprised some coaches don’t get the can though. Not bc it’s their fault, but there has to be some organizational accountability. They certainly aren’t helping s***, so doesn’t hurt. Not like you can cut Springers check. Have to show some balls somehow.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 We will get back to .500 again boys. But not in 2024. Once Shatkins is gone and probably in 2026. The success the Guardians have had since Shapiro left will give me some hope. Thankfully the contract picture other than Berrios' deal isn't bad post 2026, so a new GM can have a clean slate, but Shapiro has to go as well.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Is it time to hire Cito Gaston again?

Considering Shapiro makes it be known he has “final say” in all baseball decisions. This falls on Shapiro as much as Atkins in the so-called Shatkins era! Both have to be gone for a change in organization philosophy!

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 This team just refuses to pivot from “the plan”. Mayza still getting high leverage is a joke

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 This team just refuses to pivot from “the plan”. Mayza still getting high leverage is a joke They're burning through the relievers so much that they don't have too many options any given day. We really need to start giving relievers a full inning so we can better plan and use our good arms to hold leads.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Injuries are part of baseball... go check around the league and see how many teams have much worse luck in that department than us. All that does is expose the lack of depth in this organization, which anyone who follows the team knows all about.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Imagine thinking the President doesn't have all final say on all big moves and the overall roster construction of the team. Guess he was too busy being a construction manager that he forgot the most important part of his role, which is the on field brand. No one gives a f*** about cupholders if the team can't perform lol.

Yankees have been without Cole and now are without Stanton, while others like Torres, Rizzo and LeMahieu have been awful.

You're talking to someone who is in a state of blissful ignorance when it comes to this organization.
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Kind of wish one of two things lol.... 1. Rogers Board of Directors recruits Mike Elias from Baltimore for President of Baseball Operations and GM. 2. Rogers Board of Directors recruits Billy Beane for President of Baseball Operations and GM. In either case it would be fun to watch an organizational philosophy coming from elias or the swinging and dealing of trades from Beane. Both would benefit from from a 200 million plus payroll!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 Your 2024 Blue Jays ladies and gentlemen. Let's all be positive. Hoorraayyy lol
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 This team just refuses to pivot from “the plan”. Mayza still getting high leverage is a joke I infinitely would have rather just left Pearson in to face Devers as the worst he could have done was brought the Red Sox within 1, and Pearson vs ONeill is a far better matchup than having Mayza who gets absolutely lit up by right handed bats.

I almost never watch games live so I very rarely post in game threads as they happen. It's pretty hard to defend the performance of the club this season aside from a few bright spots, and in this game in particular the lineup composition to allow more offense really bit the club in the ass.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
