Hey, they got it done today. Can’t always rely on repeated RBI singles though, need some more power.

So ridiculous. We’ve sat one of our best hitters twice this week even with an offday on Thursday. When the offense is so bad our own pitchers are calling them out.

Schneider is one of the only guys in the lineup providing consistent pop/XBH

Only thing that could justify him getting these days off would be a minor injury

Springer has a 32 wRC+ in June (49 PA), after having an 83 wRC+ in Mar-May (216 PA), but shockingly has started all but 1 game in June so far.

 

DS was Barry Bonds for a month and a half, and then went 0-fer in his next 8 games, and that was enough for them to bench him permanently last season, including the playoffs where you kinda need home runs and he was one of the few HR hitters on the team. It's like they want any excuse to play him less. If Biggio wasn't a complete turd at the plate this season, then we'd probably still be seeing DS in a platoon role right now.

I'm just saying that DS hasn't been hot lately. Perhaps they think he's tired or needs a mental break (piggybacking on a day off is super common). Maybe they just want to get him some better matchups to get him back on track. I think there are some logical reasons why DS got a few days off. If he starts playing just 3-4 days a week moving forward, I'll have an issue with that.

 

Do I know why Springer continues to play everyday? No I do not. I think the emergence of Barger could cut into his playing time if he doesn't turn it around quick.
