Agree with this mostly but the team still wasnt good enough to even make the playoffs in an expanded playoff era. It is still the most exciting season under the Shatkins era and wish they didnt go totally to the other extreme in terms of offense vs defense.

 

The team that ended the season very well may have been the best team in baseball. They unfortunately ran out of season.

Agreed... everyone was scared to play us in the playoffs that year. Semien had just a great year and that 1 easy toss to first ended our chances. Argghh

I prefer to look at a game earlier in the season where Montoyo intentionally left Chatwood in when he was struggling tremendously to prove a point after Chatwood was upset about being taken out of a game. Semien's MVP quality season was one of the primary drivers towards the team having a chance in the first place.
