saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Jays win the AL East Varsho has a 30 / 30 season (hr, sb) Manoah finishes the season in the rotation IKF has a sub 80 wRC+ There's at least one rain delay at RC I thought this was bold predictions. That's sort of what I expect from IKF..lol Springer with 40 bombs. Votto with an OPS north of .850. Blue Jays win the World Series!
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 You really are a half glass full type. Lol..that's what I was thinking. We have relievers in the farm worth something. How is it possible Wes Parsons made the opening day roster if this is true..lol Dude hit 3 batters and walked 8 in 10.2 innings this spring and made the team! Every team has high upside prospects. Nimmala was our first round pick and has 40 professional Abs. Literally every team probably feels just as good about their first round pick or top . Bonilla was the third highest paid international free agent, so considering we used so much of our international signing money on him we better hope he's good, but most teams also probably feel positive about their top paid international free agent signing. Objectively, most people rank our system bottom third whether it's fangraphs, baseball America, Keith Law or anyone else ranking farms.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Farm system is underrated, I've been saying it all offseason. It's not amazing or anything but they do have: --> position player depth, of the MLB ready variety --> relievers with some upside, of the MLB ready variety --> improved SP depth through AAA/AA than last year --> some exciting high upside prospects like Nimmala, Bonilla, Tiedemann, and a few others You really are a half glass full type. What does that even mean? Lol What do you think underrated means dude?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Detroit makes the playoffs, we don't. That's not bold, CD?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Orioles win the division by 20+ games. Bo Bichette gets traded mid-season. Bowden Francis makes the All-Star team. Joey Votto leads the roster in OPS. Daulton Varsho loses his everyday job to Alan Roden Blue Jays lose 90+ games
Nexii Verified Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 An MLB player is found guilty of gambling on baseball or fixing prop bets Jays finish with 98 wins Clement hits .335 for batting title Varsho 5 WAR Jays still finish 2nd in division and go out in first WC round again
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 - Vlad puts up a 5-win season - Romano's arm blows out, he's non-tendered by the team and agrees to a 2-year deal deal at not much more than his 2025 projected arb salary - Votto still bangs - IKF puts up a 3-win season - Jays win the ALE
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 (edited) Uh yes it is? Detroit knocking off the Twins, and Jays missing doesn't seem all that bold, Tigers are getting much better, I find a lot of these suggestions aren't bold for that matter, ETA; according to projections I guess it's bold, my bad. Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Nate Pearson figures it out as a reliever consistently....maybe we can dream lol
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Kansas City Royals win the AL Central and Bobby Witt Jr. wins AL MVP.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Cole Ragans wins the AL Cy Young as well.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 29, 2024 Author Posted March 29, 2024 The Orioles navigate the season like a Singaporian cargo ship navigates the Baltimore harbour and they miss the playoffs IKF reaches a Ryan Goins level popularity among the casuals The Jays have a 6 game lead on the division by the All Star game The most commonly heard phrase in September is "I have to admit I was wrong about this front office", which turns back to hatred after they are swept by the Tigers in the playoffs. Rays finish last in the AL East. A Blue Jay star is suspended for non-baseball related activities. Romano does not lead the team in saves. Varsho's fWAR is 3x that of Moreno. BJMB goes mildly viral for something The Jays trade for Tanner Scott
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2024 Posted March 29, 2024 Hurl, when are finally going to meet up for that beer after one of these games?

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Kansas City Royals win the AL Central and Bobby Witt Jr. wins AL MVP. Was pretty close on the division and Witt Jr. either wins the AL MVP or is a finalist.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 - Varsho will hit 30 HR's with 80 RBI and steal between 25-30 bases. - Kikuchi will strike out 200+ batters. - Votto will post similar numbers like he did in 2018 and have an .OBP above .400 and post a WAR between 2.5 - 3. - Bassitt will land on the IL and only make 20 starts. - Biggio will hit 20 HR's. Too much of an optimist haha. Kikuchi at 198 K's right now, so should get 200.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 If you parlayed DET makes the playoffs and Toronto doesn’t, that’s probably some hefty odds
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Detroit makes the playoffs, we don't. That guy really knows baseball.
