52 pitches for Goose

I guess they are being cautious with him.

Or maybe he will throw a bit on the side right now.

Maybe they bring him back out for the 6th? It's spring and they've done that already with other SPs.

Mayza is f***ed. Sitting 91, touching 93. That's 2-3 ticks below 2023.

Maybe MLB The Show knew what they were doing when they rated him extremely low for this year lol.

Dead arm likely, if not, he needs imaging before it snaps a ligament.

Might need to IL him. His velo hasn't been there this entire spring I believe.

He had a 3 up 3 down plan at 55 pitches, he came out of the 4th at 52, I guess they got what they wanted. I think he wanted the next batter.

Mayza with decreased velocity is terrifying mainly because Schneider is going to use him in high leverage spots as long as he’s on the roster, so hopefully he’s either sorted out by the end of this week or if he needs an IL stint then do it now rather than later.

Seriously, he's been good.

Probably because he plays for the Pirates and I have 0 reason to know of their existence. Good for him, I always pulled for him when he was with us.

Any IL stint prior to opening day can be rolled back at 3 days max, so essentially today would be the day if they were to do something like that, lol... :P

Hah... they're my favourite NL team, way to butter me up, lol.

Pop literally made this hard for himself. Could have been a simple inning. Not good for a guy on the bubble.

He's not on the bubble, he's going to Buffalo.

Ahhh... no wonder you're usually positive about the Jays. When watching the Pirates so often, everything looks good by comparison lol.

People have been throwing his name around if we had to cut a couple of people from the 40 man roster.

Pirates were amazing when I grew up, from 6 years old on, it's why I started playing in the sandlots and birbee tournaments around the house, at 9 I joined organized ball, at 10 I joined travel ball and so on... this sport is a passion to me.

Oh, as a dfa candidate? Yeah, he's on that bubble, correct.

Ya I remember the pre roids Bonds era but they have been so bad since other than a few years of the McCutchen era. Kudos for staying strong throughout all that lol.

I'm talking Willy Stargell, Bill Madlock, Dave Parker, Rick Rhodes era bruh, lol. They won the '79 World Series and had the tin-topped Yellow and Black hats, it was invigorating, I fell in love with baseball that year. 6 years old, the memories still hold vivid to me.

They were really good back when the Jays were in the early 90's. Bonds, Van Slyke, Bonilla, Drabek, Smiley, etc.

I really wish the Owner would sell them. It would be so good for baseball to have a good team in Pittsburgh. One of the best stadiums in the league and Pittsburgh fans are passionate about football and hockey - I see no reason they wouldn't get behind a good baseball team. Great history, good threads too.

As a kid one of my first memories of baseball was watching Kent Tekulve on the bump. My favourite player on the Pirates.
