Who exactly is bashing the Orioles??? All I ever see is people talking about how good they are and how we all wish we could swap rosters.

For example, JH was downplaying the Burnes acquisition and saying the Orioles never really had a good rotation to begin with lol. Even before they added Burnes, they had Grayson Rodriguez, Kyle Bradish (3.8 fWAR last season), Dean Kramer (decent back-end of the rotation guy), and Albert Suárez has been a nice find (approaching 2 fWAR this season). They also had some guys who they lost to injury like John Means and Tyler Wells (who were both decent when healthy). Overall, their rotation wasn't that bad. I think we all agreed that the Orioles needed to add an ace/No. 1 starter and they did in Burnes during the offseason.

Here's my quite about Burnes

"New guys traded for Burnes and that's about it, a good acquisition but that wasn't even really a supplement to a great staff, it was because they didn't have anyone even in the same talent realm as Grayson."

And it was directly related to my position that so far, the Orioles have not been willing to supplement their roster with what's needed ro fill in the cracks. They had no front end starter, so they traded for 1 year of one. Now they have a few months left of him before he flies away because, imo, they won't do what's necessary to keep him based on history, though it remains to be seen with the new ownership.

So far, all they've done is swing weird trades for garbage aside from Eflin, who has had exactly 1 great season in his career.

My opinion of the Os lack of pushing to win will change if they actually make meaningful signings or trades that land non-rental top talent.

As usual you've read into my post what you want to read.

Actually, both you and JH tend to use some subtle condescending snark. Like a little kid that messes with their sibling when no one is looking and then acts astonished to mom when they retaliate.

For the most part I've stopped that for your own sanity.

It’s possible. Though there’s that whole leopard and spots theory that’s out there.

It's actually unbelievable that you can have a rotation as good as Seattle's and still be as bad as they are

So.... fire the manager in August?

Going OT to say I mentioned paying my life high for $1500/each ticket to UFC, which is well over $2k in fees and insane to me.

Well, Canada says hold my beer, as Taylor Swift is a lot more than that for the cheapest seats and she plays FIVE shows in like a week in Toronto this November and they all cost that at least. At first I was surprised, but knowing you guys across all the years, I’m thinking there’s probably a bunch of people here with a November date circled in red, taking up whole page.

Guys like Laila, it’s just a matter of how much they laid out. Which row they splurged on.

In baseball news, Danny J first in history to ever play for 2 teams on the same day is pretty cool. May be in another thread. I dgaf though

I’m taking Jim’s side here. He keeps the condescending snark to virtually zero these days. In fact I’d consider nominating him for poster of the year

Stock watch tip on my proclaimed newest “guy” that would be busting out. 40 FV Kumar Rocker. 19ip at AA coming back. O.46 ERA, 29k/3bb. Heading to AAA. ROY next year for sure

Mariners lost again today, even with Kirby on the mound lol.

Have lost 8 of their last 10 and sit back at .500

Dylan Crews making his debut tomorrow for the Nats.

I'm gonna repeat here my prediction that Soto is signed by the Nats, and they are contenders in 2025

It's certainly possible. They've been willing to spend big in the past, no reason why they couldn't again.

They're in a different position now compared to when he declined their massive contract extension offer a couple of years ago. Still feels unlikely though.
