All events on Ticketmaster get shutdown at 2AM for routine maintenance and open back up at 4AM. If you went to look at a leafs game you would get same message.

 

But yeah, you can bet if Ohtani did sign in Toronto they would jack the price up right away, that I'm sure of lol.

I would lose my f***ing mind. But if he doesn't sign, kudos to the front office for almost making it happen. IMO, they have tried their absolute best and left nothing behind to give this a whirl.

It's a weird one. A month ago I didn't even expect Toronto to be a contender for him, now they appear to be a finalist. Perhaps they are being used by Ohtani to drive up the Dodgers contract, but so be it if that's the case.

Revising my view on this. I actually think its more likely than not we sign him now. Its the best way to protect renos and other investments.

 

It might not work out long term from a on the field perspective, but there a lot of runway to make the deal pay financially for Rogers worth the risk.

 

For 3 years at least the buzz will be palpable and monetized. Hopefully a lot more than that.
