All I can do is laugh at this point. This front office is an absolute joke. The window of contention is rapidly closing, yet we're sticking with the same knuckle-head who's had no prior experience as a GM. He's had 8 seasons and he hasn't been able to produce a team that can win ONE single game in the post season. It's time to move on. I agree with this and feel the same. I have to flip the script and hope good things for 2024. I don't feel overly optimistic at all but hope that changes. Some huge decisions are in the windshield for this team, not that they are the only team in this same boat. This team could take off or it could become 17-18-19 ish again.

 

I don't ever want to get so jaded I want the Jays to f*** up to get a FO canned. I have been close to feeling that way on Atkins since his presser. Had to let that go. You can spin this FO record is ultimately done a bad or good job, but the reality is its mixed and grey - no black and white determination is really possible. Its in the eye of the fan.

I wonder what the Achilles heel will be for next year's team, because if Atkins fixes the offense he will just create another major weakness like his process of fixing the defense for the 2023 team. I am a big fan of Varsho (because quality everyday CF like him do not grow on trees like some of his haters seem to believe), but when I saw him batting as high in the lineup as he was early in the season I knew something was very off.

Fun fact, Varsho had more fWAR per PA in CF this season than KK, while also having a lower wRC+ than KK.

 

I agree with the last part of your post though. As much as I'm a fan of Varsho, I thought Kirk basically needed to be the catcher moved instead of Moreno, because it's only a short matter of time before he too physically regresses to a full time DH (like another fatass we know on this team).

I agree, something should have been done. They have that s*** show with Bass, Shitshow sending Manoah down, another mistake bringing him back up too soon, so they send him back down. Another s*** show. And to top it off, they have had huge increases to ticket prices. But we are gonna go into next year with the same guys. This is very bad. Im like others, always a Jays fan, but I will not put out another dollar out to attend a game until they prove worthy of it.
