BCZ Verified Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Referring to Vlad and Bichette obviously. Both athletes in their own way, though talented, are morons. Bichette doesn't know you have to tag up from third base on a fly ball to the outfield (something most little leaguers know). Vlad gets picked off second base in the most crucial game of the season in an absolutely embarrassing turn of events. Both these characters still think 'trying harder' is the way to play baseball in important games. Maybe a rookie might make that mistake. So obviously they are slow learners. Bo, for all the hype he gets as a hitter, is pretty overrated. Ya'll know he was 5th worst in all of baseball with a 4.5% walk rate. How long is that success going to last? Further out of 212 players with at least 400 ABs he was 48th in wRC+. Can you say meh? I don't know what's going on with Vlad's bat but it's obviously unacceptable for a first baseman, that's supposed to lead the team offensively, to be a barely average hitter. It's just sad if these are the two guys that are supposed to be the faces of the franchise.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 What I pulled from this only 7 players per team on average have 400 ABs+. Kind of surprised but makes sense I guess
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 brah, we made the playoffs. We were supposed to win the division and make the World Series and have a serious chance to win it. Yea we backed into the playoffs, which got us nothing. Just making the playoffs with all these WC they added should not be an acceptable result for the fanbase and FO. We came third in our division.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 s***ing on Vlad is warranted after the debacle of the 2023 season. But if you are going to target the best player on the team (Bo) your judgement is askew.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Bo is the least of this team’s worries
Nexii Verified Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Bo was 3.8 WAR, that's a very good season Vlad, not so much at 1.0 WAR Though I don't agree, just because a player is talented doesn't mean they should be expected to be a leader. That's what the manager position is for
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Bo is smart enough to learn from his mistakes. Vlad, not so much, the kid is slow. If they can get a good return for Vlad I wouldn't mind it.
