jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 I doubt they are going to be some changes as they had been like this throughout the season. The team is what they are at this point in the season. Borderline Playoff team. Frustrating to watch and a lot of stupid decisions. But just get in and see what they could do with the pitching they have.
BlueJays Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 There is no new Coach on the f***ing planet who is going to fix that kind of stupid baserunning by Vlad. Riveria was yelling at him. It should have been obvious to any pro ballplayer what to do there in that key situation. He did the same when going to home. I think Devers might had a shot if he throws it home. It might even be close
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 The anger in a win they didn't deserve is interesting

Steeljays Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 So, it's the idiot players? You can't teach this stuff, a lot of it is just comes down to low iq baseball players Low IQ players need constant instruction on what to do. This has happened and time again. I believe it's up to coaches to keep them understanding of the situation. If you don't agree then fine

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Crazy game Davis Schneider got all of his regression to the mean out of the way in one day I guess
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 So the 2022 Phillies with less power Yup exactly. Just get in and take it from there. Gotta love their chances in a short series with their pitching staff. Just need this lineup to score 4-5 runs per game.
dippitybop Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 To me, it’s not that Vlad doesn’t know how to run the bases. It’s his immaturity of wanting this glorious moment or celebration. The crave for the spotlight and attention. Hence the constant water pouring. On Schneider’s line drive, all he cared about was touching home plate and feeling the glory. Immaturity

If you don't agree then fine Exactly... as a coach you need to start reinforcing Baseball 101 stuff to your players BEFORE play starts so they have a better chance to not f*** up. You can see the 3B coach talk to Vlad after explaining the situation to him. Most of us do this s*** in beer league when we know we have an idiot on the bases lol.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 The anger in a win they didn't deserve is interesting I think everyone is happy with a gift W. Just some frustration over what seem to be recurring baserunning fundamental mistakes. Vlad at 2B not tagging in extras stands out to me. Kirk thrown out at 2B. Whit and Bo with a couple of issues on the bases. Lucky to win.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 If you look again, Vladdy was casually running home on that last play. If Devers went home with the throw there was a chance of nailing Vladdy.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 So the 2022 Phillies with less power Mysterious lack of power for this lineup though. Such a stupid season, nothing makes sense.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Is this how KC felt in 2015 when they were winning all those games that others thought they didn't deserve? Lol
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Is this how KC felt in 2015 when they were winning all those games that others thought they didn't deserve? Lol No because they at least had solid defense and some elite arms in the pen. But Hosmer dashing home for the winning run in the final WS game sticks out as being extremely lucky. He was a dead duck with a half decent throw.
Halloweenjack Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Wow. Some people on here make me laugh. How can people say we got a gift win? We had more hits, far more winning opportunities. The right team won. I even watched the game with the Boston Comms and they even said we had the better chances.

I would absolutely support benching him, I would absolutely support asking him not to come back to the team this year. I don't give a f*** about the home runs he's been hitting, I don't give a f*** about what his name is, the entitlement of this f***ing *******, the arrogance and utter cluelessness with the f***ing Gatorade shower afterward. Get the f*** off the team already.

Game should have been over except for ball misplay in CF. We did deserve some batted ball luck at the end after some stung balls caught off Davis and Bo etc. Our base running overall wasn’t stellar. Turn the page to tomorrow. W is a W.
Doubleplay21 Verified Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 What do the Jays do with Chapman Terrible hitting strikes out twice a game
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 That was Cain wasn’t it ? This is the one I was thinking of. Extremely dumb play, that worked out because of a s*** throw because the first baseman was dumbfounded Hosmer would even try it. Should have ended the game and gave NY a win. And they call it “amazing base running” I could totally see Vlad attempting something like that in a playoff game and getting thrown out at home for the final out.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 6 years 160 million. Or whatever Olson got from the braves. Plenty here would’ve been good with that in May
infinitebook Verified Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 What do the Jays do with Chapman Terrible hitting strikes out twice a game He still has a .900 ops against lefties for the season, I think maybe just use him as more of a platoon guy with Biggio if he continues to struggle.
