So you think the Jays should sell and replace the GM midseason? lol... that ain't happening, bro.

No let Atkins sell off Merrifield, Chapman, Kiermaier.

Bigger moves happen in the off-season

That’s if they don’t show significant improvement in this next stretch of games. This is their window to make some ground.

They are going to have to make a decision on this future of this team soon because they have valuable trade assets you wouldn't want to see them squander if they aren't actually going to be a contender.

Plus the prospect hauls they could get for Gausman and Bo this off season has to be on the back of their mind.

Atkins definitely doesn't see another rebuild though.

Unless Atkins is fired this month, the only direction they will go is doubling down on what they have now. So we will see prospects traded for big league help regardless. Only way it doesn't turn out like that is if the bottom falls out and they are like 10 games back of a playoff spot by the deadline, which likely isn't happening.

The Jays screwed me tonight in my parlay ugh.

Go and get em tomorrow with Berrios on the mound. Need to win the next two games.

Its hard for me to get mad about the team at this point. Disappointment after disappointment.

I understand you can’t win em all, but we absolutely need to make up ground these next couple weeks. Losing this series would be an embarrassment

Agreed, these next couple of weeks are vital in whether or not the Jays have a good shot at making the postseason. If they only go .500 or maybe 1 or 2 games over, not good enough. Need to make up some ground here.

Tonight was a winnable game but oh well. Hope they take the next two!

Agree. They won't. I think expect the unexpected though.

5 teams on the outside looking in for the last wild card within 4 games of each other. Jays are 1/5, and I wouldn't sleep on SEA with Teo starting to heat up hitting his 14th last night.

Even if they get in, a quick and then quick/painful exit like 20 and 22 respectively will result in a lot of changes I think.

Any way you slice it we need to get on a sustained roll over 20 games asap. Starting today hopefully.

The Yankees are running minor league lineups out there due to injuries and the Astros are missing Yordan, while the Jays are having great luck with health, yet here we are. I guess when Vlad and Manoah are collectively replacement level heading into July it’s almost as bad as having injuries but still hard to see the Jays finishing ahead of the Yankees and Astros once they get healthy. That’s not even factoring the O’s, Red Sox, Angels, Mariners, etc. The Jays have a +8 RD, and that’s with a 20-1 win (or whatever the final score was) included. This isn’t like 2021 where they were underperforming their RD until August.

It’s still very possible for this team to go on a run and end up in a playoff spot but it does feel like even if they get one it’s going to be hard to advance.

Okay and obviously it's going to be tight so they DO need to go on a run, but I was laughing at the notion of us selling and removing our GM midseason, neither of those things are going to happen, period. We're a half game out, mate? That's chicken little, s*** talk to me. If Toronto don't make noise this season/post-season, I highly doubt Ross will be around to make any moves past October and it'll be warranted.

Fair. I doubt we will sell anything either. This a year to contend.

Yeah this is a tweaking season where we see guys our bench and/or pen arms + some prospects get moved to bring in more reliable bench and pen guys. I really don’t see any blockbuster type deals being able to be made to land a 2/3 starter, or solid regular to the lineup.

One back end pen arm, one bench bat and that’s about it. I don’t even know who they could be targeting either given the s***** state of the Central divisions where nearly any team even close to .500 still has a chance to win a playoff spot.

Were we supposed to face Fujinami today? I thought is was another pitcher when this series was announced?

Harris is coming behind him.
