Laika Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Just missed that one, it was waaaay up there. Having better AB's lately, good sign. uh huh...
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I'm wrong? He looks completely lost
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Author Posted June 1, 2023 He looks completely lost I'm talking the last 2 games, maybe his uncle has helped. He barrelled that flyball, and he had another last night, still not pulling though.

He hit 3 singles two nights ago...let's not say he's fixed until he has a couple of 430+ foot shots, or at the very least some barreled line drives to the warning track. Vlad has too many tools to not be performing as a fearsome power hitter. Bichette just hit a homerun to straight CF. It's not just about pulling the ball, it's about hitting it with complete authority as he's more than capable of.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Came in here to say that KK is a core piece and absolutely my favourite player on the team lol.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 All Vlad has to do is look at Heineman's two plate appearances today. He's seen 3 pitches, 2 right down the middle, and he actually swung at both and gave them both a rip. 1 double and 1 screaming line out. Be ready to hit the mistakes. Also seems like he's late on even the most pedestrian fastballs, like he's waiting that extra split second to ensure it's not a slider down and away... then ends up being late.

The only good thing is that this is Vlad at his worst... and he's still a decent bat.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Bo needed to let the ball travel a bit more before catching it. The ball was clearly not going to bounce, so no need to go out that far to catch it. If Bo straddled the bag, the runner is easily out.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Another absolute hanger that should've gone 450 feet. I'm sorry but these high arching warning track flyouts don't do it for me.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Vladdy has a launch angle problem again, but the other way. Both nukes today were 36 and 40 LA - going up but not out. --- As long as we figure out ways to win while he finds the sweet spot... when he does, he can carry us the rest of the way.

Kinda nice that he is missing on this side of the equation though

He's in a place where he has no intuition in how the pitcher may attack him. It's hard to make educated guesses when you're not working with much info.

Can we just admit that Vlad Junior is crap and move on. Thank goodness no extension was signed. Or bat him lower in the order. Can we give Hiorowitz a chance at first ?

That's what I was getting at, seems close to me.

JaysFan99 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Gausman is dominating again. It's too bad his pitch count is so high. Don't really trust the bullpen with the luck Gausman seems to have.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 16 swings and misses, hardest pitch of the afternoon clocking in at 99.3 mph on his 100th pitch, his last of the start. Just your typical Kevin Gausman performance.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 99 mph for the K??? Nasty Gausman's so good.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Varsho is hitting flyballs all over the damn park but not getting enough behind them. Much like the rest of the team lately
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Love Gausman, really crazy the jays power seems to have diminished this year
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Lookin like Gausman will come out for the 7th??

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Love Gausman, really crazy the jays power seems to have diminished this year Key bats underperforming Vladdy Kirk Springer though he's been better lately All way down in XBH/HR
