I'd take the neck/shoulder for sure given how many sporting careers we've seen ruined by concussions. They tend to become more severe with related occurrences.

I thought his pitches legitimately looked better. There were far fewer non competitive pitches and he dotted a lot of two seamers and four seamers effectively.

He definitely had an early assist from the home plate umpire though. Early on his command was pretty scattershot and he was gifted a bunch of undeserved strike calls.

Manoah was better in all regards today. Pitch mix may have been just having better fastball command, but he did throw much more fastballs today which was the complaint about Kirk (mine at least). Slider was sharper, but not great. Changeup was usable. Did a good job using the large strikezone and getting timely double play balls
