Great game for all of Big Ross's most recent additions.

 

-Bassitt out dueled Strider with a CGSO.

-Whit kicked off the scoring with a single, a steal and then scoring the first run in the 5th. He can hit velocity.

-Belt (up to a .727 OPS and climbing!) hit a double in the 7th before being pinch ran for with Lukes which tacked on another run.

-Varsho hit a bomb to add an insurance run in the 8th.

-Kiermaier was 1-1 with 2 BBs and made a great play to steal a hit, he also was this close to stealing another run with his baserunning in the 5th. He's slashing .294/.363/.451 so far this year.

 

Yes, we are a more multi- dimensional team that can manufacture runs in tightly pitched close games.

He's exactly the type of starter I was hoping Nate Pearson would eventually develop into. Several injuries and lost seasons later now I just hope Pearson can at least provide some effective innings out of the pen moving forward.
