Alek's velo is down.

I think he's just learning to calm down a bit in these situations. He has a way of bringing up the velocity later in games.

Alek also does this typically no?

He starts 92 ish and then ramps up over the game.

I did hear him say that Verlander told him that's one of his secrets to success, so maybe.

Thing is he averaged 91.7 last turn through, we'll see.

One thing I really hate about hitters, when they come to bat just deciding before hand they wont be swinging, and watch crushable meatballs go right past them.

I picked this up a few days ago from a local auction. Thought it was kind of neat!

Yep, you could see that Vladdy made that decision after the quick outa before him.

Yeah, I remember Verlander often starting out in the low 90's. Late in the game when he started smelling something special, he ramped it up into triple digits.

Avg velo will be seem to be down though if you intentionally keep it on the low end (90-92)for the first half of your pitches, then ramp up (93-95) for the second half. That's just math, and will all depend on how soon/late he flips the switch
