Can we get Marlins Bass please. Blue Jays Bass f***ing sucks.

Yep. He has pretty much been first time Jays Bass since he came back. Bring on the Royals! Let’s get rollin’

Didn't have a chance to watch any of the game. I see Bassitt got blown up. What was his stuff like? Good stuff but command was off, or was the stuff crap.

He looked awful all around. Fastball sitting 89-90, couldn’t locate anything. Serving up meatballs

But but but guys it's spring training and he's a veteran and his velocity is right where he wants it to be!!

I think he needs to get rid of these 8 pitches and get 8 new ones

It was a bit like the Seattle playoff series - a very big WTF!

Yeah but that was before he turned to dogshit this spring

It's so over, Spanky

Orioles will finish ahead of Toronto

Woof... I hear ya!

Bassitt is also a year older than Roark was when the Jays signed him. Pitchers get old and decline too, and that was the biggest risk with Bassitt. Too early to say one way or another, but if dude is throwing 89-91 moving forward, then it's going to get really ugly.

If he’s topping 90/91, he may legitimately be a DFA/release candidate. Hopefully that’s not the case

This is hyperbole... a 1.5 MPH drop is concerning, but chill the f*** out!

I think the pitch clock is fine for the most part. But maybe add another 5 seconds so things feel a little less rushed.

I agree. The game should be allowed to breathe a little more. Especially when it comes to the last inning and crucial late game situations.

It's like... the game doesn't want any of us to be fans or something.

Manoah sucks

Team walks 14 times and doesn't score

Bassitt has the 3rd worst start in Jays history and is probably worse than Tanner Roark

I am in so much pain

And yet there is soooo much talent on this team

Rough start

Better times ahead man :)

Well I think he’s proven through spring training and now this first start that he can’t be effective throwing 90mph. Maybe he can idk. Hopefully he is able to ramp it back up to 93ish and we aren’t talking about his poor velocity all year.

It's one game fellas. Let's wait for at least another start or two before we tar and feather Bassitt.

...but damn, what a rough start.

I saw a reddit comment from a Mets fan saying Bassitt was a total perfectionist with pitch selection and would constantly shake off the catcher and step off the mound during his starts. The new pitch clock coupled with this information stands to think hes going to have a rough time adjusting, if he even can at all. Compounding the problem is also going to be his large selection of (mediocre) pitches seems kind of terrible to deal with in a 15 second window.

He was also calling his own pitches right? My instinctual response to that is negative, pitchers have to be so focused on executing every pitch they throw and trying to remembering how every single batter should be pitched in a given situation seems like it would give nebulous results at best.

Silver lining, Bassitt required very few pitches to serve up home run derby pitches to the Cardinals. He was efficient.

If he was constantly shaking the catcher off, then he was already calling his own games anyways. So the pitchcom and selecting his own pitches SHOULD help him.

The pitch clock however… idk hopefully he can adjust
