I'll be listening to the Jays this afternoon while driving my kid to Whitby for the OMHA tournament.

 

Some odd things I've noticed today.

 

Gunner Henderson is DH'ing for the O's (so Urias and Frasier can both be in the lineup?)

Albies hits cleanup, while Michael Harris hits 7th (assume this is because Corbin, LHP, is on the mound?)

Belly is hitting cleanup for the Cubs

Yoshida hitting cleanup for Boston

Volpe hitting 9th for the Yanks

Darick Hall hitting cleanup for the Phillies

1. Ramon Urias might be pretty good actually. I don't think Frazier would be the one taking ABs away from Henderson since he'd be SS/3B, of which Urias and Mateo are far better defenders.

2. Albies rakes against lefties, 139 wRC+ career. Harris comparatively was much poorer against LHP (80 wRC+) than RHP (160 wRC+) last year.

3. lol, confidence booster I guess

4. He probably is their second best hitter, not that weird

5. Rookie on the Yanks

6. Probably dumn, but it's deGrom and Hall hits RHP well, Phils 6-9 (5 if Castellanos is actually bad) kind of sucks with Bryce out.

Surprised to see Varsho in the 4 spot. Thought they would’ve flipped him and Belt just based on experience and track record. Hoping Varsho can live up to the expectations.

Sorry - I wasn't suggesting these are all dumb. It was a mixture of things. Some I thought were interesting, some were just updates and some I thought were odd. DH'ing Gunner just seems really dumb - even if Urias and Mateo are better defensively. This is the future of the franchise type player - he needs to play and develop defensively.

 

I had though Yoshida was more of a leadoff type - although he hit cleanup in the WBC, so that seems fine.

Let me check the odds on the Giants. It's only 1-0, so I would put money on them.

 

Giants at +290.

 

Just need Cole out of the game after 6 or 7 so innings and a close score still. Yankees BP sucks.
