Ive been wanting say no matter what Matt Chapman does with his bat he has been an absolute pleasure to watch at 3rd base. The guy makes difficult plays look routine on a regular basis. His defense is best in the league or top 3. Anything he does at the plate is bonus. I hope we can resign him, knowing his agent I highly doubt it though. Which really sucks.

It's surprising and its also not. Tampa had an insane start to the Season but since that time they have been a lot more human trading wins and losses more often than not.

You got your surprise teams like Texas and Baltimore who have both been consistently good teams. But not really going on any extended runs.

American League is certainly wide open to a lot of teams. And feels the Jays have under performed record wise. But I still feel if the Jays run into any team with 2 or 3 good starters in the playoffs they are in a lot of trouble. They just aren't scoring runs at any kind of consistent base. It usually takes an unsung hero like a Cavan Biggio, Danny Jansen, or Kevin Kiermaier to win a game if the top of the order isn't performing. The middle part of the lineup is just really rough and the bottom of the order is basically Danny Jansen running into one or Kevin Kiermaier having a good game turning over the lineup.

Its the same for every f'ing team mate. Jays are not unique, regardless of your feelings otherwise.

Yes and no but I just feel the Jays can be shut down relatively easily. They don’t consistently string hits together or get the big hit. Outside of Bichette the team really lacks any dynamic run scoring potential. Even the Jays increased stolen base numbers seem to be inconsequential at times. Really just lacking that reliable middle of the order bat to get a big hit. Chapman has not consistently been that guy for them. And nobody has really stepped into that role. Belt has been the closest thing and he hasn’t been consistent either. It’s just not a very good offensive team. Low OPS and low on base guys.

Jays definitely miss a middle-of-the-order of Donaldson, Bautista and EE back in 2015. They don't have that this season.

Definitely doesn't feel that way.

Still 10 GB behind Tampa and 6 GB behind Baltimore.

The Jays certainly don’t get enough offense from the Outfield. You can live with Kiermaier because hes been mostly decent for the level of defence he provides. But Springer has underperformed despite being healthy. But luckily he has been much better of late. Varsho outside of running into the odd Homerun is almost a complete non factor offensively and he plays LF in the AL East most nights. It’s just not going to cut it even with his top end Defense.

Having both Kiermaier and Varsho is tough. Especially when they are both lefties and you don’t really have a right handed platoon option. Ultimately Varsho ends up playing CF vs lefties and he’s abysmal against them. That should be addressed. I don’t think Varsho should be getting many at-bats vs lefties.

Rangers aren't winning that division. It's 50/50 if they even make the playoffs. So don't visualize the Jays path through the AL based on today's standings. Part of the reason why I'm so confident in the Jays is that...well just look at every other team over .500. No team stands out as dominant or unbeatable. Even the Rays mirage is starting to be exposed a bit now. The American League is merely running up the tally against two historical piles of s***.

Yeah everyone has warts.

The Yankees are in deep s***.

The Rays always decay with injury.

Baltimore is going to stay cheap and rely on their babies.

This is why i’ve been arguing against resigning KK beyond this year. Move Varsho to CF and get a corner OF bopper next year.

No team has that this season.

Yeah if the playoffs started today it would be:

Rays (1) and Rangers (2) get a bye

Jays (6) at Twins (3) - Wild Card

Yankees (5) at Orioles (4) - Wild Card

Winner of Yankees/Orioles vs Rays - ALDS

Winner of Jays/Twins vs Rangers - ALDS

I feel really good about a series against the Twins. It would almost be better to stay in this spot, but it's pretty precarious with the Astros on our tail. Maybe the Rangers will crash and burn in the second half.

They can probably get him from the Yanks pretty soon.

I'm so tired of them playing reasonably well but still being in 4th place

MLB needs to restructure the divisions.

I see both happening. Resigning KK and getting a good corner OF bat. And another DH bat

All AL/NL teams having the same schedule and the playoffs are determined by the top X number on each side would be fun. Not sure they would ever do it though

They won’t because casual fans enjoy rivalries. They want extra Yankee/Red Sox games, in the NFL that 2nd in-season game. The Rays are doing just fine in the division, Baltimore looks to be built for long term success. It’s loser mentality what you guys are saying

Yes. “I know you are but what am I” is often your guys go-to lol

Anyways, divisions aren’t going anywhere.

I hope Atkins is on the phone with Bautista and EE as well to make this happen.

If they restructure them, would have to do something like the NHL I think.

Every season is different though. AL East is always tough but some seasons the AL West could be stronger and some seasons the AL central could be good as well.

Cody Bellinger

Joc Pederson

Joey Gallo

Teoscar Hernández

Hunter Renfroe

Out of all those guys above, Joc Pederson is probably the best guy. Don't really care much about the others.

Max Kepler, and Eddie Rosario have club options.

Michael Conforto could opt-out.

Jesse Winker is a FA and could be a good buy low but his power has vanished the past two seasons.

Leadoff walk in the 3rd now, lolololol

And a double follows!

Manoah is going to have a mental breakdown. Kind of worried about him at this point.
