$50-$60k is pretty common for private schools actually. That’s not the expensive tier.

No, $20-$30K is pretty typical for the strong private schools in Canada.

Way to quick man.

I would think few want you to be right about Soroka more than I. He is a FA in a year and he just hasn't recovered since 2019.

Tough decisions. I've heard AA interviewed about him quite a bit. He had high hopes for him in '23 and it didn't work out.

Time will tell if he is another Chris Carpenter ish or not.

I meant for US colleges. I paid $15k for my son’s high school. $20-30k would be the same here for a little more prestigious. Then you have the places the super rich send their kids to.

Oh ok, fair enough.

I’d bet it’s structured where he’s making $1-3 million the first couple of years, so if needs seasoning, not a big deal. They’re just betting he’s going to eventually be good. And not even star good.

Connor is like one of those smart MAGA types. He might be smart enough to understand a concept, but is lazy and doesn't give a s*** to really study up on it so he'll just say something stupid or ignorant about it and not care. I mean, that only makes you stupid if it impacts your life in a meaningfully negative manner. All it does is make him look like a goof on here, but after all these years of coming back to this and freely talking about trying to import online brides, and hilarious bald midget jokes by Spanky, he clearly doesn't care what anyone here thinks about him. He's probably a massive underachiever, but not to the point where it makes him a loser. Like a decent middle class lifestyle or something as opposed to being a Wall Street bro or successful entrepreneur. His arguments also reek of low effort so he's mostly just trolling people.

On the opposite we have Max. Who probably is average intelligence at best, but goes hard in the paint with everything he does here. Is also totally politically correct, and takes offense at everything. Likely if Trudeau erodes to the point of getting three votes next election, Max will be one of those votes. Probably overachieves his slot in life, but likely to still be below Connor.

So I'm not sure Max pointing out that Connor belongs in clown college is the winning move here. More like the other way around tbh.

The last several pages about the Atlanta/Chicago deal is confusing to me. White Sox likely won it. Good for them. They need a win with how s***** they've been. But to go railing on and on about how the Braves or AA blew some formerly valuable assets. I mean, this team won a World Series and is a consistent 100 game winner. Using a stock market analogy, some guy can make millions and be successful but then some people troll him because a couple of his investments blew up and he lost $50K each on them. Who cares?

Go back to 2018 and look at the trajectory of the Braves and White Sox then fast forward to today. It's not even comparable, not in the same universe. Almost antipodes. You could just as easily say AA took pity on the White Sox and let them take an easy win. Knowing that damage to the Braves will be low because there couldn't be a team that's less of a threat to the Braves' spot than the White Sox right now.

Nah, they will have it structured so he makes either league minimum or slightly more in years 1-3. They won't want to set precedents for base salaries in years 1-3 being any higher than what is bargained. Bonuses may be added on top but they won't go much above min with base salary

Both teams are just in completely different places. AA replaced Soroka with Murfee on the 40 man and that's a win bc Soroka has no application for a team trying to win a WS. A roogy has more value.

Same thing with dumping Wright. They're trying to fix Kowar and get a good RP out of him. That's just more valuable to AA than a rehabber

Spanky just said it was too early to trade Soroka after not being healthy since 2019.

I used Manoah as an example if he s*** the bed in 2024, and if Atkins traded him for pennies after or non-tendered him that would be asset mismanagement according to Spanky and Laika. I have no problem with the Jays giving Manoah another chance in 2024. No different than the Braves hoping Soroka could stay healthy and rebound after his surgeries. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Though Spanky said he was in favour to trade Manoah now before that happens.

No, this is all false, listen AA backed himself into a corner and lost 6 assets for 2 middle relief pitchers in 2 days, it was bad 40 man management, it's simple as that. Soroka alone should've received more, as for Manoah he's controlled and has far more value, I put Manoah's name in a Soto trade, eejit. Pull your head out of your ass, please and thanks.

If you’ve done research on clown college, it’s not easy to get in and not everyone gets to be a clown. Check out Steve Os YouTube videos and he goes into detail. It’s a prestigious thing, not like being a Harvard student, but maybe Stanford or MIT would be the equivalent.

Why do you even care so much about this Braves trade FFS? Geez you guys need to get a life!

Braves will still be a 95-100 win team and one of the top teams in baseball next season. Also, they have already won a World Series in 2021. Flags fly forever!

Get outta here with those weaksauce insults man, I'm sure you can do better than lame Trudeau jokes. Show a little creativity instead of recycling other people's material.

You know absolutely nothing about me aside from the fact I like to trade barbs with Connor (as does everyone else for that matter), and especially enjoy giving Mr. "some posters here" a taste of his own medicine. It's sweet that you've taken it upon yourself to white knight for Connor, I'm sure he's especially touched.

Why do you, you caused all the stink, get a life, lol? Laika brought up a valid point, he doesn't manage the 40 man well, never has, and YOU flew in here and had to protect the man you have on a pedestal for some weird reason AA, pull your head out of his ass while you're at it, that's what happened here.

Again, give me other examples during his tenure with Atlanta where he hasn't managed the 40 man roster well?

I provided reasons why the Braves made those trades. At the end of the day, guys like Soroka, Wright, Lopez etc. aren't making a difference on a team like the Atlanta Braves and the objective of the trade was to clear space on the 40-man roster. Secondly, their value didn't drop drastically from last offseason to this offseason. They were going to be non-tendered if they weren't traded and the other 29 teams knew that. Give it a rest.

That still doesn't mean he didn't handle it wrong, f*** off eejit. You're insufferable.

He lost 6 f***ing guys in 2 days because he backed himself into it, this isn't f***ing hard, man.

He mostly painted me fairly. I would swap out lazy with unmotivated and unfocused though. The drawbacks from the sense of grandeur a sociopath has. I should be ruler of the world instead of a 9-5 kind of thing. Wealth alone isn’t a draw for me. I think even for super successful entrepreneurs, wealth isn’t the draw (well for many it is, sure). They just found a passion for something.

These college bills forced me to focus on a bigger paycheck though and recently I got to the Top 10% of US salaries and without working in a big city. However, that follows 15-20 years of purposeful underemployment. Ironically, or not ironically, starting when I first came here lol.

It seems we do share some things in common. I eventually built a comfortable upper middle class lifestyle for myself, but had I been more motivated in my school age years I had potential for a lot more than that. I was simply too much of a procrastinator to qualify for any kind of scholarships, and my parents would have really struggled to help put me through an expensive university education so tech school ultimately made sense for me. A nice benefit of that was the ability to step into the workforce after only a few years of extra education without having to take on massive amounts of student loan debt

I recently worked my way into the top 10% of Canadian earners as well, but it wasn't necessarily due to underemployment in my case. It took me a prolonged time of putting in my dues working my way up the chain over the years.

My hope for my son is he finds the middle ground. He’s a finance major and at one point of course he dreamed of Wall Street Bro life. But I told him a lot of those guys are working 15 hour days, 6-7 days a week. I’m trying to teach him to go to work with a great attitude and give it all he’s got, and then go home.

My daughter is still only 10 so I have a lot of remaining years before I have to worry too much about her long term future, but thankfully she is wired differently than I am with regards to motivation and drive to really push herself to succeed.
