hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Max Muncy in 2023: .209/.333/.495 with 35 HR's and 99 RBI, 122 wRC+ and 2.8 WAR absolutley love Muncy, he goes to the plate wanting to crush balls 500' - and in that line-up his approach works perfectly
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 ....unfortunaltey the Dodgers will definitley pick-up his 2024 option - at onl 10M (+ 4M in incentives), otherwise I'd go after him hard

Muncy is the type of bat the Jays could use (masher and plays 3B). Would be a perfect fit here. Varsho needs to start hitting like Muncy.

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Did you read the Rendon news too? A bit like the Manoah situation. Not as bad but Up until like two days ago Rendon was getting roasted by everyone for faking his injury. For some reason the Angels still decided not to reveal his broken tibia, forcing him to do it himself. The team is an absolute gong show, and I don't know how they can keep employing Perry Minasian.
harvey16 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 With the Jays winning yesterday their playoff odds are now st 59.1% according to BR. Even with getting swept by Texas, we still have an excellent chance of making the post season. We need to play well, but we don't need to be perfect. 8-6 over our last 14 games likely gets us in. Just need to focus on winning series from here on out.

For some reason the Angels still decided not to reveal his broken tibia, forcing him to do it himself. The team is an absolute gong show, and I don't know how they can keep employing Perry Minasian. Apparently four doctors looked at it and said bone bruise (two picked by the Angels two by Rendon). Then Rendon found a fifth on his own who said fractured tibia. Angels probably feel f***ed over by him and are assuming the worst. That he wants to get paid to not play.

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 The Dodgers have a s*** ton of money coming off the books next season, that's an easy sign

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 CLE GOES UP ON TEXAS 2-1 IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 8TH!! Clase time!! edit: game CLE!! I’ve never been a Will Smith fan. I’d hate him if he was a Jay. Lulls you into thinking he’s good and then he blows. Sort of like you guys and Biggio, I guess.
infinitebook Verified Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 someone say again the jays need to go 9-4 to make it in now? We could have the wildcard back tonight. With 7 games between mariners and rangers still. More like 7-6 might do it the way these other teams are playing. Unless I'm doing my math wrong, I think 11-2 is the record that guarantees a playoff spot
infinitebook Verified Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 yes, but 7 likely does it. Not that I think they can pull it off, just need to get lucky 7 games, then another dozen or so. Yeah for sure, and I actually my math I think was wrong, when you factor in that Astros have 2 series against Mariners and Rangers 9-4 should guarantee it, but yeah 7 prob good enough.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 The Jays season is not over? If the M's lose to the Dodgers, we're all the way back in too!

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Merryweather threw the 8th and 9th for Cubs tied 3-3 vs AZ Got his 91st K 98-100. Looked filthy. We saw glimpses of this guy.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I feel bad for saying the Royals and Astros jerseys were trash. It was the negro league jerseys. You racist

We saw glimpses of this guy. He’s kinda like Trevor Richards but less consistent. Can look absolute dominant unhittable at times, and other times he’s throwing batting practice

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 what the hell Stroman is in the pen?
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Kelenic's walk up song is John Denver's classic "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and the entire park started singing during his AB .....pretty cool dodgers/mariners 0-0 going to the 8th
