jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Looking forward to the WBC, though do you think it helps players and pitchers or hurts them more before the regular season?
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Whoever put that batting order together needs to be fired.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Author Posted January 21, 2023 Is this a joke??? The top 6 Im ok with but Mr Chapman needs to be at least 7. Also added is the Jays reply Muncy hasnt even been a primary 3B, except for last season, Turner is on the way down... though he has been a very good 3b in the past. I could see an argument for Yandy above Chapman if you look at Offense over defense, and CHappy is just flat out better than DJ...so yeah... Chappy should be a solid #7 on that list.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Lists like these are nothing but ego stroking and have no bearing on anything. Only one trophy matters. One doesn’t have anything to do with the other. Just because a team wins a World Series, doesn’t mean you can’t grade out players
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Whoever put that batting order together needs to be fired. Jrod is a rookie so he hits last DUH. Pena? He has proven big game experience he should probably lead off
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 DR will actually have some pitching too - Though more names will likely be made official, here are the players who have reportedly committed to the Dominican Republic: Starting Pitchers Sandy Alcantara Framber Valdez Cristian Javier Luis Castillo Relief Pitchers Bryan Abreu Camilo Doval Diego Castillo Emmanuel Clase Felix Bautista Genesis Cabrera Gregory Soto Jhoan Duran Rafael Montero Seranthony Dominguez Wandy Peralta Yimi Garcia Reynaldo Lopez Nutty. Pitching has always been their weak point for the WBC, this looks like a roster capable of winning for sure. Pitching looks a lot better than the US
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Whoever put that batting order together needs to be fired. Yeah. Even in that ridiculous lineup Julio Rodriguez doesn't bat 9th.wtf
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Nutty. Pitching has always been their weak point for the WBC, this looks like a roster capable of winning for sure. Pitching looks a lot better than the US Yeah The emergence of Alcantara and Valdez has really changed the picture
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 The US probably won't be as well rostered up as they could be Not sure the Angels and Rangers and Mets will be OK letting Trout, DeGrom and Verlander play in it

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Interesting. You could really maximize it building condos in the concourse and having restaurants/pool/fitness etc for the community
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Tony Kay is just a pawn now.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 That’s cool but they probably have a major Rat/animal problem
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Mookie Betts part starting at 1:40 is particularly cringe worthy
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 this guy sucks at corporate GM speak admittedly it's a hard skill to perfect but he just should not have even began to talk about the specific Mookie decision like this
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Mookie Betts part starting at 1:40 is particularly cringe worthy Man, Jays fans should be thankful that we have Shapiro and Atkins. Bloom is not only terrible at being a GM, but that whole 4 minute clip was embarrassing/uncomfortable. The Red Sox are going to pay Story and Yoshida $220m over the next 5 years (counting the posting fee), while Betts will get $265m from the Dodgers over the next 10 with a lot of that deferred, and this clown is trying to rationalize that as a positive. Bloom's job security is good for the Jays, I guess.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 This guy sucks Tampa does not miss Bloom or Montoyo
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Tampa does not miss Bloom or Montoyo I feel Tampa touts the guys they want to get rid of most and let teams poach those guys keeping who they actually want around.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I feel Tampa touts the guys they want to get rid of most and let teams poach those guys keeping who they actually want around. Particularly after the best one (Friedman) got away
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are no longer for sale
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are no longer for sale That sucks
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are no longer for sale Because I just bought them.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are no longer for sale Lolll dude can’t even manage to sell a team properly. Poor Angels fans gonna get nothing for Ohtani
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 It's such a shame that organization wasted prime years on Trout and Ohtani. You gotta be contending for the Postseason every year.
