There have been some successes of course. Bumgarner and Strasburg most recently used as starters and used extra as relievers in games during the World Series.

 

Patrick Corbin too....he's never been the same, but he's got the ring and the $$$.

Patrick Corbin too. Idk it’s probably like 50/50. 2019 Kershaw blew it out of the pen, 2020 he was great

To lose some of the talent they have and just keep chugging along. Damn.

 

2 guys in the top 10 for position player WAR and 2 guys in the top 10 for pitching WAR.

 

The Alvarez/Altuve/Bregman/Tucker/Valdez core is strong (plus Verlander)

prolly not an official one cause there's two DS's per side, but he's carrying the bulk of Astros offense atm.

Ya. They said goodbye to Springer, Correa and Cole. Smart FO building a sustainable winner. Interesting you don't get many runs off of Castillo but 3/4 runs today came from Tucker and Alvarez - impact LHH bats in the line up. They have a lot of balance.

There isn’t really a single playoff team that doesn’t have a solid LHH in the middle of their lineup (other than Toronto). I know the LHP/RHP splits but it still needs to be addressed IMO

Verlander and Kershaw are #1 and #2 all time in post season strikeouts at 208 and 207.

 

Amazing

 

Well, expanded playoffs kind of dilutes it and makes it not so amazing.

Yeah they've benefitted from more teams making the post season and more rounds being played

I think it does as well even though some posters on here don't think it matters. Having a solid LHB in the middle of the lineup definitely can make a difference especially against a good RHP.

You're grumpy. I had to step away mostly for a few days to grieve our loss - having irrational thoughts and the like lol.

 

When I open the Board site now, I'm just still glad it still exists (my wife isn't). Thankfully Hurl is earning off us so he can stomach the disdain he has for posters who aren't all in on the FO and 183 W's over the last two years.

I'm seeing a lot of ads about having a free TTC in Toronto. Election campaign ads for Jack Yan as mayor of Toronto. Not sure if it's just me. Though I thought we kept politics off this board. The Hurl shouldn't be accepting money from politicians.
