That's why experience matters. This is a good team with a lot of potential and the idiots in the front office keep hiring managers who have never lead a big league team before? Montoyo first time manager, Schneider first time manager... This is a young group, they need a manager with experience.

Yes, but I also see Fairbanks/Helsley completely f***ing up too - two of the best relief pitchers in the game.

 

Cash managed the fairbanks situation perfectly and Guardians didn't score, game went to 15th - lost to Kluber cause they had no arms left.

Marmol f***ed up Helsley and left him in too long, and Cards lost the game.

-Fire john schneider

-Fire Atkins and Shapiro

-Move Bichette to 2B

-Get some good swings & misses type of bullpen

-Get #4 and #5 starters

 

Agree with most except firing Shapiro just yet. Not only do we need to find a real SS to move Bo to 2B, we need to find a real CF to move Springer to the corner OF spot. We are flawed at the 2 most important positions defensively.

That is why I am pissed off at that specific move because that was unequivocally a bad move, he stacked the deck against Mayza and expected a miracle.

 

Like Mayza didn't even throw a bad pitch, that was painted bottom/away - Santana lifted that. Its just bad choice. You should've kept Kevin in or went with Garcia for a K.

I think the players recognize they each s*** the bed in their own way over the past couple games. Sure Schneider didn't help with the Mayza decision but I think they players will be soul searching rather than pointing fingers at the manager

Idon't want to fire Schneider, but Atkins should be gone tomorrow morning. Two years ago I said they needed to fix the bullpen. Here we are with the same mess. Every knowledgeable poster on this board spent the off season listing names of pitchers that would help, and we did nothing. I never liked Shapiro, and was one of the few that wanted Anthopolous. If Shapiro won't fire Atkins, he should be packing his bags too. Tapia was a miserable joke from the start and he was one of the causes of this loss today. They never did anything about Bichette. Shapiro and Atkins have had six/seven years now and we are no further along again than when they started. Who else in baseball would be allowed to have this mess after all this time.

 

It is not like Rogers hasn't given them the payroll. Both managers watch Vladdy struggle all year, and did nothing to try and help fix him. This team was built like it would be a powerhouse with big sluggers and most of them fizzled.

 

I have been a jays fan since the first game and have seen thousands of games, but this is without a doubt the worst.
