Well, that explains the control issues maybe.

 

No need to keep him out there, we need him for the playoffs, can't make it worse now.

He'll be fine for playoffs; deals with blisters all the time (almost on a game-to-game basis)

 

I'm more worried about the pen, honestly. As you say, this is kind of nothing new.

Yeah exactly, seems super precautionary. Gausman has talked about how he pitches through blisters all the time. Likely they’re just being careful so he can make his next start with no issues
