CBlake Verified Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 And the magic number is 0, The Blue Jays ticket to the post-season has been punched after the Red Sox beat Baltimore 5-3 this afternoon. Now it's time for the Jays to preserve the first wild card spot thus having home field advantage in the first round. How nice would it be for them to rip off a six-game winning streak to finish off the regular season.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Despite all the ups and downs we pulled through! Now it's time for the Jays to dominate like they can do! Lets Go Blue Jays!

CBlake Verified Member Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 Manoah will pitch #1 game at home or on the road. I wonder with him starting Friday night against Boston how things will be setup over the next week. Strip is going Saturday, Gausman on Sunday. How do Scheider and Walker use the next week to get the rotation they want in place for the wild card with consideration for home field advantage and not burning out the bullpen being given consideration.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 A little shaky lately, but this feels like the best the team has played all season. Peaking at the end of the year. Now Vlad needs to find a way to heat up

Not much to really decide until Wednesday. I mean don't pitch any of the key bullpen guys 3 games in a row, but other than that normal until Wednesday. Then Wednesday is tough. Are they really going to pitch Manoah if homefield isn't clinched? If not who? Bullpen day? Do they really want to do a bullpen day just before the playoff series?
Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Yay, I guess. Obviously I'm happy that we're going to the dance, just wish we were better positioned with our pitching staff to actually feel like we had a chance at the world series. We realistically don't. But it will be fun, I hope we end up getting home games one way or another. Playoffs are far from guaranteed going forward in this meat grinder of a division.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Hell yeah! Extremely anti-climactic, it would have been nice to win yesterday and celebrate on the field. Ah well. Save the celebration for home field clinch! Pray to god we don’t have to play in the trop. And I really hope we can at least make it to the DS this year. Keep it rolling

He did well in his other at bat getting the sac fly. GIDP was frustrating, all of our guys have been hitting into far too many this year. Worse was finally tying the game and then giving the 3 runs right back next inning. Hate that s***. Probably should have just walked Judge there
