Automated strikezone needs to be a priority over these other rule changes. Or atleast have an instant challenge system. Where a team can challenge a call and the umpire gets instant feedback on the correct call. You get 3 of them a game. If you fail 3 times you lose it. If you’re right 3 times in a row you get an extra challenge that can be carried over.

I really don't like the challenge system, 'cause it will only be the obviously missed calls, and the close missed calls are just as much of an issue.

Will say 10 Hail Marys and pray for one more IP from Berrios. He is painfully grinding. Lucky we are still up thanks to the Os base running.

That's actually what they're implementing in the minors.

Last I saw the players were saying there is still a lot of work to go with the auto k zone. Giving each team challenges seem like a no brainer imo in the meantime

The only other option is just having a computer call balls and strikes by the definition of how the strike zone is defined. The Umpire still does all his other tasks he only relays the information instead of making the strike zone calls himself. I feel like that can be done right now.

Lots of easy outs for the last two innings for Bradish; wonder if he'll get to see the lineup 4th time through assuming his pitch count is okay

Both Jansen and espy were in 2 and 1 counts and swing at ball 3 . Espy was in the dirt, got to make him throw strikes

This is probably the last time Berrios sees the lineup; hopefully he gets quick outs and gets two more innings.

That’s an excellent start. Hopefully it doesn’t take a long time to implement. Imagine how much cleaner and less oppressive the game would be if nobody could be upset about the strikezone. Everyone understands it. No more non sense on some umpires having bigger or smaller strikezones. No complaining about balls and strikes just Baseball.

It was the only sport without a clock, they are ruining the game.

Yeah the changes they are making outside the bigger bag is awful. Strike zone alone would make the game far better, Toni umps are needed
