Considering Springer's injury uncertainty and we needed someone to cover OF, and it was a literal last second trade, it leads me to believe they wanted to someone else like Happ from Cubs but couldn't get the deal done (no one could, Cubs probably had a high price).

 

Just because Atkins wants something doesn't mean the market is just going to bend over and give it to him.

He is a 28 yr old in AAA so maybe he'll only/always be an AAA dude.

He was also drafted by the Shatkins camp before they came over, so they know his value than any of us ever will.

Out of spring training I thought for sure we would see him at some point this season. Seems like they are determined not to give him a shot. Many opportunities this season to bring him up and nada. Feel bad for him.

Zimmer is better at his role than Lukes. There's really no debating that fact.
