The Jays seem to be locked into the overuse your closer mindset right now. Last night they use him up by 5, tonight it's using him up by 4. Now it's all but guaranteed he won't be available tomorrow which is a big loss if the game is within a run or 2 late.

 

Last night he needed work. Tonight he was fully warmed up when they extended the lead. If Cimber gets into any trouble Romano's has to come in anyways. Bass can close tomorrow.

 

I would've gone with Cimber but going with Romano wasn't that stupid.

I think Bo has improved by leaps and bounds defensively this season. He still makes a few mistakes but he's far more reliable and makes some very nice plays.

I think Bass is being underutilized a little so far, he's been a little buried in the 6th/7th inning, and even seems placed behind Cimber in the pecking order.

The Apple TV broadcast got a bit better as the game went on. I wouldn't be surprised if they were getting live feedback during the game that said "shut the f*** up and talk about the game"...lol.

Awesome performance by the Gausmann, Garcia and Romano tonight. The Yanks batter's did not have a lot of confidence tonight. You could really see it in their demeanor at the plate. They were all hope...and all prey...lol

Highly doubt Bass closes. I think they have Yimi as backup closer (though it should probably be Bass).

Only 10 pitches on Thursday and 17 tonight. He could be good if needed in a close game. He had pitched only 2 times in 16 days before Thursday...he needed to pitch

Yanks bats weren't bad. Gausman was just that good. He was slinging pure filth tonight. What a shot in the arm the last 3 starts. Rotation has set the tone.

They record those between innings and play them during the game so it wasn't live during the Teo ab. Too bad though, would have liked to see Boone's expression during the homerun.

Bass has not been good anytime he's been put into the closer role. Why re-write the book when they have Romano who is nails as closer, and Jimi not far behind in high leverage effectiveness.

 

Also complaining about using Romano in a 4 run game against a team that has a lot of late inning heroics is a weird hill to stand on.
