Honestly the more this season plays out it looks like fixing both the rotation and bullpen without training major prospect capital seems impossible. They might be better off selling off some assets and retooling for next year.

Getting a third wild card spot just isn’t remotely appealing.

You have to try to get in if you can, what’s the point otherwise?

Maybe we could sell and buy strategically.

Welcome. Is that why all the 3s in your name?

Nah thats just my go to. I have been here before and got banned cause my first post I said Stroman should be traded. A mod with a deadpool avatar called me a dummy and banned me. 1 year later Stroman got traded. That mod still here?

I think we’re getting swept by the Yankees either way lol. I just don’t think this team is one or two pieces away. It feels closer to 5 or 6.

Agree too much to fix to be a go for it year. That and it being the Yankees year

Well, to be fair, the first half of the 2015 season looked pretty similar. Some big moves could potentially make all the difference.

I’m unashamedly part of the ‘just get to the dance, anything can happen’ crowd. Come on in, the water is warm.

The point is I don’t think giving up prospects to fix this team is the right play. Sometimes taking a step back is needed before making a proper step forward. Brute forcing it at this point seems not ideal.

I don’t see how it gets better next year. This is our window right now.

I hate to say it, but it would probably be better to let Thornton start in Kicuchi's place going forward. Yeah, he sucks. But he could probably be the kinda guy to go 5-6 innings while giving up 4 runs. It's not ideal, but if this offense could get going it should be enough to keep the team in games.

Ehhh, for better or worse, the window is now. Gotta try and make some noise while the core's all together.

If this is a window it looks pretty foggy outside. It would hopefully improve in the off-season with trades and free agent additions. The time you can truly improve or change your team. Very difficult to do it right now.

Dude, Kikuchi isn't even THAT bad, lol.
