saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Only 101 MPH and to the wrong part of the park Yeah, even not getting all of it 388 is out of the park if pulled a bit more. A homer, a near homer and 19 pitches. I'll take it.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Last year’s Baseball’s back please. You would think MLB would want more offense.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Trout’s taking him deep second AB Lets hope for the bases empty

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Author Posted May 27, 2022 Baseball savant has that ball as barreled, ball sucks.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Author Posted May 27, 2022 That was a strike, f*** off Blue.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Ugh Jansen caught that like s***, if he holds it at the corner there's a 50-50 chance the ump calls Ohtani out, but never going to happen with the way he dropped that into the ground.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Damn that was actually a great 3-2 pitch
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Baseball savant has that ball as barreled, ball sucks. Exit velos aren't really down, unless Vlad is injured there's no way a barrel of his is only hit at 101 mph. He just missed it by a millimeter, that's the nature of the game sometimes.
Big BlueJay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Baseball savant has that ball as barreled, ball sucks. Judge doesn't seem to be having any issues with it, or Trevor Story with his 7 HRs in the past week

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Trout’s taking him deep second AB Nah....0 for 12 after next AB.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Reds 20 Cubs 5 Reds and Cubs don’t count. Basically minor league teams.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 I get that, but the barreled ball by statcast has me puzzled. I blame the ball. It's a barrel by how Statcast classifies it but it's not a "true" Vladdy barrel as we know. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/statcast/barrel To be Barreled, a batted ball requires an exit velocity of at least 98 mph. At that speed, balls struck with a launch angle between 26-30 degrees always garner Barreled classification. For every mph over 98, the range of launch angles expands. For example: A ball traveling 99 mph always earns 'Barreled' status when struck between 25-31 degrees. Add one more mph -- to reach 100 -- and the range grows another three degrees, to 24-33. Every additional mph over 100 increases the range another two to three degrees until an exit velocity of 116 mph is reached. At that threshold, the Barreled designation is assigned to any ball with a launch angle between eight and 50 degrees. The ball might be bad but if Vlad hits that on the sweet spot it's 110+ mph and 430 feet. He just missed it slightly and still sent it 388 feet.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 How many teams do you guys think Ohtani would both be both the best pitcher and hitter? 15+? Maybe potentially 20+
