Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 To add to this he didn't let Manoah finish that game where he had 83 pitches in 8 innings, instead opting to throw Romano on back to back days. Which likely made him cautious in not using him in 3 out of 4 games tonight. Apparently he had Romano warming up at some point this game so that tells me he was actually waiting to use Romano for a save situation. What a dummy.
BuckHenry Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Wtf is wrong with this manager ?? Byrucki is a AA pitcher ..,, however with our offence , Jays will not even make a wild card ….. also sick of this s*** about Hernandez and Gurriel getting hot …, f*** off …
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Montoyo adamant about pulling Manoah after 83 pitches in a game where he's cruising. Lets Berrios throw 99 pitches after giving up two runs in close game. Pitch around Goldy in 8th please. Chuckles isn't really going to use Tapia to pinch hit for Zimmer is he? Lateral move at the plate but we lose an excellent defender in CF in a close game. Pinch hitting Tapia for Zimmer is inexcusable. Montoyo still hasn’t figured out Tapia can’t hit. It’s almost June. LOL.... Merryweather gets shelled all the time. WTF is this Montoyo. Typical of Montoyo to make sure any player involved in a recent roster move has to play in next game. Merryweather f***ing sucks. Come on Charlie Montoyo honestly doesn’t give a f*** about winning. I’m convinced. He just wants everyone to play Minor league manager We need to start sacrificing something, I say we start with Charlie’s bongos. Yeah, Phelps... one more. I wouldve stuck with phelps Charlie's f***ed. I give up. Borucki alert! 1x BBrucki to bring up Goldschmidt with the bases juiced Oh man Borucki lol. Borucki over Phelps is just dumb. lmao walked him to face Goldy. Montoyo has no feel for the game. Oh well Why the f*** would you bring Borucki in here? Ridiculous managing. f*** you Montoyo.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 This team has been an Epic disappointment so far.

What a dummy. He learned absolutely nothing from that Seattle game last year with Brad Hand. Just a f***ing idiot honestly.
Cynical Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 So Montoyo said that he was surprised they pinch hit for the rookie in a lefty on lefty matchup. It seems the other manager knows more about Montoyo's own pitcher than he does. I don't even know what to say...

Denali33 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 There is nothing to say Charlie day in and day out has made terrible mistakes like again tonight. He simply relies on what the computers say those numbers mean nothing.Every game we shift and shift and maybe he should worry more about his bull pen and who is going to match up.For him to say he never thought they would pinch hit tonight why wouldn't they ?The problem here is lack of thinking .Make a move Jay's we are falling very fast.

He's your best reliever and very good against righties, but even better against lefties. He has reverse splits.

He's your best reliever and very good against righties, but even better against lefties. He has reverse splits. He literally made the move to go lefty on left and had no other thought. He didn't even think the other team would do the obvious and pinch hit. It was pretty much guaranteed the Cardinals would pinch hit and Buroki would face a right handed lol. He also seems to give Berrios more respect than other players on the team who have handled situations well, like Phelps and Manoah. This guy just has zero feel for the game, or even his own players.

Charlie is more of a checkers guy, doesn’t like chess much. Too many different pieces and rules.

Dokken Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Goldy is a beast! Also apparently a very good lowball hitter (so said the Jays announcers as he was circling the bases on his HR trot). So what does Borucki do ? - throws him nothing but pitches down and in the entire at bat. Who ever was calling the pitches there on both hitters Borucki faced (how much of the blame falls on Kirk?) should be totally embarrassed. Borucki was throwing 96-97 and never went upstairs once as I recall.

What a dummy. Or is that Charley just trying to help his boy pad his stats with save numbers (don't they still count for a whole lot at arbitration time?). Regardless he could have got the win had they taken the lead in the 11th. Either way dumb managing.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I don’t think he had any control of where the ball was going Let's throw a guy who has 4IP in a super high leverage situation! What could go wrong!?
