Here's a tip from The Sheriff himself.

Stream Brubaker tonight. He sucks but even so he racks up Ks and the Rockies suck ass on the road. It'll be the first game of their road trip so the dreaded Coors Field Hangover will be in full effect with a pitcher's park on top of it.

Brubaker went 6.2 IP, 5 hits, 2 Walks, 4 Ks, 0 ERs. He didn't get the win and the Ks were a little light but the rest of it was great.

Zach Thompson gets the Rockies at home tomorrow and could also be worth a stream. He's pitching better as of late and the Rockies suck.

I would expect Bassitt to be better in 2022 for sure and probably in 2023. I don't think Gorman hits the ground running.

Being said, in deep dynasty you probably want to keep Gorman and roll the dice with him...

I guess it depends on team position, roster construction, and league depth tough.

Like, Bassitt is good right now and in a really good situation with his home park.

Come on Jim, you don’t think Buxton is worth Gilbert?

What's going on here? You offered Buxton for Gilbert?

I did

Interesting. Jim has been extremely bullish on Buxton. Surprised he hasn't accepted.

1 for 1.

I’m confident Riley rips through the minors and never looks back. So I’m ok with the objective overpay

It must be that Jim has an immense amount of respect for you: you're willing to make the deal, ergo Jim questions his own valuations.

This seems like very sound reasoning actually

BTS nailed it couple posts up.

I’ve heard others call him “Jim the Cowardly Lion” but I try not to partake in the name calling and such. I try to respect the rules as much as I can

I can't afford to give up pitching in BBDL, and the value gap between the two isn't high enough to pull the trigger. Looked for an add from c-pee's team, meh.

Buxton is struggling with injuries again this year. There's a good chance he doesn't exceed 100 games played in any year of his contract.

When I traded Tucker for Buxton way back when, 1st BORED deal, Buxton and injuries were not yet a thing.

.

Buxton hasn't been hurt, they just sit him every 3rd or 4th game trying to delay his inevitably getting hurt. Or maybe he is and they just aren't announcing it but as far as I know he's perfectly healthy right now and he's 2 for his last 36 with no HRs hitting .199 on the season and only has 1 stolen base. I'd rather have Gilbert if I could pick between the 2 right now

no, he is having knee issues, it's been reported.... remember the game a month or so he attempted to steal 2nd, then took himself out? followed by cortisone a few days later?

I remember that yes, then he took a week off and came back and that's the last I've read about any issues. Either way he's playing like utter crap, if he IS hurt they should put him on the IL I'm sure someone else could fill in and do better than 2 for 36. After seeing Gilbert again last night it just solidifies that I'd rather have him than Buxton regardless.

Not so much advice as venting about the horrible luck I have with any fantasy sports game. I have Verlander who has a no hitter through 6 2/3 and somehow turns into 7ip 3 er and no W. I have Manoah who has no runs through 7 2/3 and somehow turns it into 7 2/3 ip 3 ER. The difference of 0.00 team ERA and 3.60 ERA because each guy couldn't get 1 more out.

In this day and age you should be very happy to get 6 plus innings from an SP and a 3.60 Team ERA is very solid... In leagues with QS you just earned 2.

QS is not a category in my league just W's, WHIP, ERA and K's. A 3.60 ERA in my league is 7th place out of 12 teams. Mine is 2.99 and I'm 3rd of 12 but had these two occurrences not happened the past 2 days I'd be leading the league in ERA. Not to mention the extra 2 hits Verlander gave up to get that last out and the extra 3 hits charged to Manoah for his last 2 outs blew up my WHIP too. I cringe every time I have a SP with a great game through 6-7 innings and they get sent out for another inning because this is how it turns out more often than not, at least for me.
