Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 f***, Trent is still in the BullPen.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Reyes was sucking before this series of course We don't throw him off speed pitches
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Also saving $5M might have factored in their decision. That helped the teams P&L, nothing more. Hurt product on field; clearly
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 4 hits 2 runs...best we can do on a nightly basis lmao
BuckHenry Verified Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Looks like Byrucki coming in …. I remember , think , 2018 , he was supposed to be one of their ace starters .
Dagagad Verified Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 My opinion on this team hasn’t really changed at all since the start of the year. The hitting will come around and we’ve run into pretty bad RISP luck. The starting pitching is good. I’m pretty confident berrios will turn it around. Our bullpen is not that great and is not deep at all. I still think it will end up being our Achilles heel.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Id be very concerned with Borucki's velo drop. Was avg 95, hitting 98. Now throwing 92-93, occasional 95

BuckHenry Verified Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Poor Lawrence , the human punching bag 😕
BuckHenry Verified Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 What a nice catch by Gurriel … bit of an ice cream cone , but still unreal !
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 The pen is still not good enough .
Acemeister79 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Particularly brutal commentary by Tabler this inning - a clueless happy camper.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 The pen is still not good enough . Yeah the quality drop-off after the first few guys (Romano, Mayza, Cimber, Richards) is staggering
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Author Posted May 8, 2022 Yeah the quality drop-off after the first few guys (Romano, Mayza, Cimber, Richards) is staggering I'm pretty sure adding a high leverage arm is near the top of Atkins to do list before the trade deadline. Hopefully Pearson can add something before then.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Take walks and hit the ball where its pitched. Do the basics
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Come on now. What is Zimmer doing on this team taking up 12 empty ABs a week?. Side effect of not having Girchuk who could play CF when Springer isn't there...

Hopefully Pearson can add something before then. He had a whole offseason and didn't do anything to address this, which was obviously our biggest weakness. I'm sure we'll trade for Brad Hands 10M contract again when he's s***ing the bed.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Still some relievers available on free agency. Sign one or two to a minor league deal and if they pitch well in Buffalo, call them up. Take a gamble on Trevor Rosenthal, Hector Santiago or Chris Devenski. I would even sign a former washed up starter and see what they could do out of the bullpen. Trevor Cahill I think could be a solid BP arm.

Maybe give Gage a shot (AAA). I don't think Devenski is a FA.

Salazar would be a great pickup to roll the dice on as a reliever. Shocked Shapiro or Atkins haven't targeted him over the last two years. Debenski I think was with Arizona. Not sure if he was released or not. Derek Holland who knows, maybe can turn into the next Scott Downs haha.
