He is supposedly an offensive catcher who has been average in that department at best. I'm not saying he can't get there ultimately since we're talking about a very small sample size.

 

He was brought up originally out of desperation. There is a good chance Moreno comes up and takes his spot if he doesn't turn it around soon.

 

Again, this isn't an indictment of his career long term, just talking about right now.

 

Are you aware of the fact that Kirk has the third highest offensive projection for a catcher in the entire league? Kirk having a 105 wRC+ is actually significant for a young catcher this early in his career, given that the baseline for offense at the position is much lower than others.

 

He's been bad in like 15 PAs in 2022, aside from that all he's done is hit.
