Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 I found Charlie's post game interview interesting. Asked about Stripling, he says something about his inning was huge, shut them down - but then he says once they tied it, they had to go to their scripted bullpen arms - Merryweather, Cimber, Garcia, Romano. I wouldn't have thought Merryweather would be in any scripted bullpen situation... Perhaps those guys were the game 1 arms, with Mayza, Richards, and Phelps as the game 2 arms? They surely don't want to go back to back with most high leverage guys except maybe Cimber.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2022 Author Posted April 9, 2022 So is Romano the only guy who got his own light show? Feels a bit unfair to the other relievers lol He's the only player to get it on the team period, lol. I'm not sure why, maybe they want to make a big spectacle out of the "big name closer" thing the Yankees had with Mariano. I hope he can live up to it. Just based on the intensity of yesterday's game and the crowd though, kid has balls of steel.

Stuff that many other MLB stadiums have that the dome never had. The amount of giveaways and the variety is pretty nuts this year too. Better beers available. Better social areas. Lots to like.
