L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Is anyone surprised a thread about the vaccine status of players didn't follow the rules of bluejaysmessageboarddotcom ?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Disrespectful posts should not be allowed, that's fine. However respectful discussion of whether baseball players should be mandated to take the vaccine is an issue which will effect the Blue Jays W/L? Fair game I would hope. Absolutely not. Discussion of "should" is the big problem. This is where the vast majority of disagreements happen, whether or not something "should" be the case, because "should" by its very nature is an opinion, and that's where things get heated. This thread NEEDS to be limited to facts, not opinions, or it will go completely off the rails (what limited rails it has...) Also, now the word "should" just doesn't seem like a real word anymore.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I don’t think there’s much disrespect really. It’s typically just directed at Jim. Take that for what you will

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 FFS guys. Ignore your goddamn base instincts to argue about s*** like this PLEASE. I do not want to have to close this thread, I think it has value, but I will. Just shut this tire fire of a thread, down. Have mercy, please! For yourself and others.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2022 Author Posted March 23, 2022 The New York vaccine mandate has been lifted, so Yankees and Mets players can play at home.
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 The misinformation in this thread is enough to shut it down.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 The New York vaccine mandate has been lifted, so Yankees and Mets players can play at home. Good, now the unvaxxed players will likely stay that way and won't be able to come to Toronto
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I see my post got deleted lol. I thought we were past all this. Guess not. Atleast alternative options are available now. Welcome...
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 The misinformation in this thread is enough to shut it down. Though the lifting of the New York mandate is unofficial, it is certainly not misinformation. It's being reported on all reputable news outlets.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I’m truly going out on a limb and don’t know, but I’m assuming there’s no major election this year in Canada?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Aaron Judge really about to be an idiot and miss out on 90 games worth of service time & pay. Mods r lame Who made these f***ing rules anyway Is anyone surprised a thread about the vaccine status of players didn't follow the rules of bluejaysmessageboarddotcom ? The misinformation in this thread is enough to shut it down. True, all's good when you blast a sieve.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 I’m truly going out on a limb and don’t know, but I’m assuming there’s no major election this year in Canada? Ontario is electing a new Premier in May.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I’m truly going out on a limb and don’t know, but I’m assuming there’s no major election this year in Canada? Not federally. Trudeau just announced a big deal with the NDP that extends until 2025 and will keep him in power until then even with a minority government. The Ontario provincial election will be interesting though.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Is it like the US where the Feds kind of suggests things, but it’s up to the states for mandates? So in this case Ontario that decides on the mandates?

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Yes. They're lifted. Trudeau and Co. deal with the borders. Ah. So the rule that’s stopping players is you can’t cross the border? Nothing to do with the local mandate?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Sorry I’m Googling so I don’t keep asking questions lol
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 So yeah, it’s the Fed. Got it now
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Ah. So the rule that’s stopping players is you can’t cross the border? Nothing to do with the local mandate? Correct.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 Ah. So the rule that’s stopping players is you can’t cross the border? Nothing to do with the local mandate? Yes and it's the same for Canadians and Jays players, which is often ignored by Yanks fans.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 redacted. This isn't the place to discuss that. Politicians do what they do and the Blue Jays look like they will benefit from the consequences.

And Conforto beasts for someone else
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 Unless they lost out on Ray for it and Gausman goes back to his AL East days. And Conforto beasts for someone else We may find out when the Mariners come to town. The advantage in home games will probably be bigger than any difference between the two pitchers in my opinion.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 It’s actually a joke that some teams are going to come play without their best lineups.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 We'll see what happens. I'm thinking it won't be that severe. Something might give...
