L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 How in God's name did you read snark? I was trying to commend a mod I don't often agree with on doing a stellar job on being even handed and not too strict since the topic at hand is a bit of a powder keg. Page 6 and this thread has been completely uneventful and informative. That doesn't happen organically, unfortunately, and even more impressively, no one is even really complaining of bias very loudly at all. The scenario I laid out wasn't an exaggeration. Hell, a mod even chipped in with one of those takes. I have travelled the internet looking for a new home and even though baseball has almost certainly permanently pissed me off, I can say with a good deal of confidence that there isn't a forum community out there quite like this one and when the mods do a good job, they deserve praise. The lesson is that we should all be grateful for this board and not take it for granted. I also had a kid so maybe you're right about the new leaf thing, not saying it so I can have my balls gargled en masse but it may be relevant to why I may be less of an *******, though this theory has not been peer reviewed. Congrats Boxy. I too had a kid and am trying to be less of an ******* as well.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 They can sandwich 50k in Yankee stadium but Aaron Judge can't patrol RF without inoculation
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Congrats Boxy. I too had a kid and am trying to be less of an ******* as well. Congrats! Oh god we are getting old
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Congrats! Oh god we are getting old Life comes at ya fast
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Asked if he was vaccinated, Judge said, “I’m so focused on getting through the first games of spring training so I think we’ll cross that bridge whenever the time comes. But right now, so many things can change so I’m not really too worried about that right now.”

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 They don't get paid for the games they don't play so I expect those vaccine statuses to change soon. New York is not changing their mandates to accommodate the Yankees.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Congrats Boxy. I too had a kid and am trying to be less of an ******* as well. I have 3 kids and I'm a much bigger ******* now than ever before!
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I have 3 kids and I'm a much bigger ******* now than ever before! You're like the nicest guy on the forum I find this hard to believe

New York is not changing their mandates to accommodate the Yankees. I think it’s been mentioned being outdoors, they prob won’t have to sit like basketball
Ray Verified Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Aaron Judge really about to be an idiot and miss out on 90 games worth of service time & pay.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I have 3 kids and I'm a much bigger ******* now than ever before! I can understand that. I have 2 kiddos and i don't give a f*** any more lol.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I have 3 kids and I'm a much bigger ******* now than ever before! I was less of an ass when my kids were young. I have 3. 18, 16, 12. The older they get, the more of a bad attitude I develop. I'll probably be an absolute angel when they move out (if they ever do). At least that's what I'm hoping for.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I think itÂ’s been mentioned being outdoors, they prob wonÂ’t have to sit like basketball But the locker room is indoors. No idea what the politics of the NY City Council is like. Could be they will hold their ground on this. Doubt Judge or other players will... though Irving did.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Did you miss the tweet above? Last time I take Grants word for it
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 So they are venomous spiders? I'm pretty sure all spiders are venomous, just a matter of which one's are a threat to humans.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Aaron Judge really about to be an idiot and miss out on 90 games worth of service time & pay. Why's he an idiot, it's his choice?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Congrats! Oh god we are getting old I believe I already gave yeah the congrats on the NFL thread, but Congrats if I hadn't, man.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Author Posted March 15, 2022 Last time I take Grants word for it Ernie Johnson said it didn't apply to outdoor sports on Inside the NBA. That was my source, sorry for the mistake.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Ernie Johnson said it didn't apply to outdoor sports on Inside the NBA. That was my source, sorry for the mistake. I don't think the outdoors part is the issue, I assume it's the dugout/clubhouse. I wonder if some sort of accommodation can be made, like, maybe they have to show up at the stadium in their gear and can't go inside at all? I dunno, I'm not familiar with the specific wording of the law. Maybe I'm breaking our rules slightly by saying this, but even I don't see the value in restricting unvaccinated players from being ON the field.

They’d have to go inside somewhere…unless they parachute in! Field of Dreams take that
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Aaron Judge really about to be an idiot and miss out on 90 games worth of service time & pay. Some things are bigger than money and profession. Like his principles for one. He’s the one that ultimately has to live with the decision.

Locker rooms, dug outs, training facilities, etc.
43211234 Verified Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Judge needs like 130 days of service time this season to be a free agent at the end of the year. So he'd miss out on free agency for another season under the assumptions that he doesn't get vaccinated and the New York mandates last all season.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 They don't get paid for the games they don't play so I expect those vaccine statuses to change soon. New York is not changing their mandates to accommodate the Yankees. To be clear, if they wanted to be in the stands for these games, perfectly fine, surrounded by people. On the field, with his team mates or alone in LF? Not ok. I don't think it's political to say that makes absolutely zero sense.
