Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Reasonable price for Benintendi. Will probably return surplus value in that deal, depends on how much speed he loses in the latter half.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 That would hasten Bloom's firing, so not gonna happen. Devers will walk for nothing but a pick. There's a non-zero chance that he just won't offer a QO for some insane reason and get literally nothing for him.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 So many teams, so many outcomes. Boston got new ownership and decided against the mega payroll. Lost Mookie for nothing, wasted/wasting away a window with some of the best core pieces in baseball
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Diluted their Mookie trade no less to save money. Though luckily for the Sox, their revenue stream is always going to be great. Crazy sports town

Yeah it's fine in a vacuum but it's basically waving the white flag and saying we are going to be mediocre in LF for the next 5 years.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 So is Hosmer league minimum for the next 3 years until his contract is up? No room for him on the Jays but someone out there could use him at that price I'm sure.

Crazy sports town Will be lots of tickets sold regardless And lots of boos at Fenway when their s***** starting rotation routinely coughs up 7+ runs

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 There’s this myth that slugging corner OF are easy to find Hunter Renfroe has been traded for nothing twice in the last two years
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Hunter Renfroe has been traded for nothing twice in the last two years Jays need a bat. Yes, “need” is subjective. But many teams in the Jays make themselves better for the next year. Definitely Bassitt did that if Father Time doesn’t get him (I don’t think it will this year anyway) Getting a possible backend arm was nice too if it works out, but need something extra for those 2-1 and 3-2 games
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Cubs didn’t wait long to reload
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Cubs didn’t wait long to reload WTF Didn't wait long enough IYAM
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Cubs are going to win like 70 games this year
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Dansby kind of the poster boy for WAR shortcomings. Like he suddenly became Ozzie Smith at 28 is worth 6+ WAR
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 I guess the Braves are going with Grisson at SS and Albies at 2B?

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Bo would look great in a Braves uniform
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Bo would look great in a Braves uniform Bo and a prospect for Ronald
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) AA on MLB Network today Braves made a "solid long term offer to Swanson" but it was "a chunk lower than the Cubs did" This was said after the host pointed out all the below market value deals he had signed others for. AA: "sometimes contract extensions don't work out even if players want to remain a Brave". Gave example of Donaldson. "There's only so much pie to go around" On the Murphy trade he talked to Beane early in the off season and didn't seem like a fit for a trade. Still wanted him so involved a third team because Brewers had a fit. "Catchers don't play 162 so there are lots of at bats to go around" between catcher and DH. D'Arnaud is "excited, he's all in" If he'd had a choice he would have traded for him in another year or two but he had a chance to get him now so he went for it William Contreras' "calling card is his bat". Had to include him in the trade or it wouldn't have happened. Edited December 18, 2022 by G-Snarls

Or did AA say the Twins also outbid them on Swanson?
