Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I think all 4 of their homegrown pitchers were international free agents. I see what you mean man, and maybe I’m being a downer here but they’ve sustained success WAY beyond that at this point.I think a lot of that first wave or two are gone at this point. Also, the jays might get there but I expected us to be farther along in this particular area by now. We still could get there tho. Of course we can, it's starting to show it's teeth, pitchers take a long time.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 DBacks was right. Swanson is better player than Bregman.

Most of this team was built when they were good and/or via international FA or lower rounds of the draft. However, they did get Tucker at the tail end of those high draft picks which has helped massively. I personally see the Cubs and the Astros as opposites. The cubs tanked, built position player depth and then traded for pitching and bought it. Won a World Series but could not maintain the pipeline. Houston did all that but then also produced a ton of home grown pitching on the tail end and kept the whole thing going. I

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 DBacks was right. Swanson is better player than Bregman. Swanson 13.4 fWAR, Bregman 27.6 ??
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Swanson 13.4 fWAR, Bregman 27.6 ?? Since when does “is” infer pst tense?
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Since when does “is” infer pst tense? It’s relevant if he’s saying the d backs were right to draft him. Which is what was said or heavily implied. What else does ‘dbacks was right’ mean?

Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 You heavily implied that on your own. I got “the Dbacks were right after all” But they aren’t right after all. Bergman has produced more value since he was drafted.

Amigo, you’re turning an off-the-cuff comment that’s meant to say “haha, any being trolled for so long for passing on Bregman, Dansby is now the better player” and turning it into a debate of who has had more value since they got drafted

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Now you can be a no fun sourpuss and reply like you and jincuck did and there’s nothing with that, but the spirit of the post is what I said
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 And if anyone says anything about the lame name “jimcuck” that I stole from someone, I will refer them to the many, many times I have been called connorpee:)

Dansby is over performing by a wide margin
