This team needs a new hitting coach. What a waste of talent. The collective approach of the top of the order has been atrocious. Pitchers simply need to throw a decent first pitch and they can get our of the inning quickly.

You've already said that, minion? It wont get any funnier.

This time it was timed with Teo actually swinging for the fences.

Helps when that first pitch strike was actually 3 inches off the plate

Yep

1sr in home runs

2nd in batting average

2nd in wRC+

3rd in runs scored

(despite Springer missing half a season)

But yeah fire the hitting coach

Its sad that the bullpen absolutely sunk this team. Starting rotation was solid this year too.

Sure wasn't our hitting coach, as buddy suggested. Stang?

Richards got rekt, it happens... Pearson and Merryweather looked dominant. s*** happens.

That wasn't a bad pitch location for Richards it wasn't anywhere near the strike zone have to give credit to Stanton for hitting that pitch out at top of the shoe laces. Giancarlo has been extremely hot at the plate lately the thing I ask is why didn't they wave the four fingers to put him on first base.

Rough game. Vladdy's definitely out of gas... It's a long season, MLB is a grind, it's a learning process in regards to how to produce late in the season. I'd maybe DH him for a few games. Maybe let Lordes play first.

The problem is he went with the same pitch in the same location for a 3rd time... Stanton was looking for it... Too predictable. Dumb pitch.

Lourdes probably can't throw right now.

Agree Vladdy looks out of gas. Has for a while.

Judge and Stanton were given 2 or 3 regular rest days a month since April.

I watch the Yes network call-in show regularly. Lots of complaints at the time when they rested, no complaints now when they are peaking late and f***ing launching it against the beta teams the last 7 days.

Yeah this is based on talent alone. They can be better than they have been. This team has way too many hot and cold streaks for the lineup they have. Stat padding in a couple of weeks stretch and then going cold for extended streaks is not something a team with this many elite hitters should be doing.

Vladdy jinxed himself when he said HE was the MVP. Like who does that smh

Someone with confidence.

Agreed. He was sitting on it, tracked it, and demolished it. Wasn’t a fluke. Golfing out homers is one way to do it and it’s not only elite players that do it. Stanton is hot as hell so there’s no reason be ashamed but there was no fluke.

Nor was there a fluke with Rizzo’s big hit. He likes to swing like Darren Fletcher with two strikes and does that s***.

Ryu is a bum at this point. Hoping next year he does something different but he’s long-relief rn

No wiggle room now. The "must win games" thing is no longer hyperbole. Losing either of the next two games would probably be it.

Sadly true. Jays could MAYBE make it through if they take 1 from the Yanks and sweep the Orioles.... but they’re gonna have to beat the Yankees again in NY for the wildcard game.

Current Standings:

NYY: +2

BOS: (2nd spot)

SEA: -0.5

TOR: -1

Expected results going forward:

NYY: 2-3 [92 wins] --> we would expect them to lose once to Toronto and twice to TB

BOS: 3-2 [91 wins] --> decent chance to go 4-1 but you would never expect that even against bad competition. Odds would say 3-2 more likely.

TOR: 3-2 [90 wins] --> expect them to lose one to NYY and one to BAL

SEA: 2-2 [90 wins]

If Toronto can go 4-1 then I like their odds to end up tied with either NYY or BOS for the second spot.

If the Jays go 4-1 the rest of the way, then there's probably a glimmer of a chance, but that would mean the Red Sox would have to go 3-2 and IMO they are more likely to go 4-1 than the Jays are. That's not even factoring the M's.

I think the Jays are going to run out of time, or possibly already have. Maybe they surprise and go 5-0 the rest of the way, but they may have peaked in September about a week too early.
