Is the season over or not? Say we win tomorrow, then does the season depend on tomorrow nights Yankee/Red Sox game? So we need Toronto win tomorrow and Boston win tomorrow to turn the season back on?

Of course not you dunce.

Many scenarios in which the Jays can make it,

but they really need a win tomorrow. A loss tomorrow would pretty much mean we’d have to sweep the Yankees.

I was asking JuniorFelix54 if 'the season is over'... yes most other posters know there are the scenarios we can make it.

And when you have a cheating piece of trash like Joey Cora who should've been banned from MLB making genius managerial moves to blow games to the Yankees, it just further solidifies that the season is over

Poor Joey’s managerial dreams may be impacted by relation to his relations.

A win tomorrow and a Yankees loss to the Sox. 1GB

Take 2 of 3 from the Yankees. Tied.

Then it comes down to last series. We play Twins. Yanks play Ray's. The Kiermaier debacle may be positive - they may want to beat the yanks to face us like Kiermaier said. Or they may throw that series to eliminate us

Chuckles will be a MOY candidate, book it. It's dumb, but that's awards s*** for you.

It's somewhat interesting that no one is really talking about Cora for MOY. The guy should be a lock considering where they were ranked at the start of the season.

We are getting close to bringing this back fully to baseball talk.

I can think of a reason why Cora is not mentioned.

He served his suspension and by all logic of a measure of a manager....without Cora they were a .400 team who finished behind the O's. With him they are a 90 win team who might make the playoffs. Without bringing character into it I'd like to see one BBWAA try to justify anyone else getting the award. If they are bringing character into consideration should they be voters?

I mean... its the same with the Hall of Fame voting too. Tons of guys that should be in based on stats alone

Even drunk Spanky would be better than Montoya.

Yup. I'd actually protect my players on the field. As long as I have my diet coke and rye, f***, I miss Gibby!

lol

Season over! I'll call it. There is alpha and there is beta and alpha comes before beta. Accept it and move on.

Rizzo - Alpha. Will always get the little hit. Will never give up. Unlike Guerrero and the Jays will not slump, will not take s***, and will dunk one to left, or get hit by a pitch to set up the big inning.

Boone - Alpha. Saw what he did in 2003. Where was Charlie then? At Denny's in Columbus or something.

Kevin Mather - Alpha - the betas fired him, but he established a culture of Alpha.

Run differential - Beta - a meaningless stat for the betas.

Winning - Alpha

Your 2021 Wild Card Matchup

The NY Yankees vs. The Seattle Mariners a matchup of Alphas.

Kevin Mather executive of the year?

I'm fine with jettisoning the politics, but I won't sit idly by at Hurl's lame attempt to neuter Spanky. His creative nickname insults and incoherent drunken rants are harmless. I can't imagine the level of whiny pussbag someone has to be to feel threatened or take offense to him to report him (maybe annoyed). He brings some much needed character to this board. I think he makes a great litmus test for new members. If they can handle unrestrained Spanky, they belong here.

Alpha and Beta explain everything far better than saber-metric, or saber-matrix or whatever the betas call it.

Alpha - Salvador Perez - never bothered with the homerun title, already has a ring, but when he smelled the homerun title he nailed it.

Alpha - Yuli Gurriel - A cuban legend, An MLB ring, and now nailing a batting title too, and maybe another ring.

Alpha - Anothony Rizzo, a ring and looking for another. In tonight's Blue Jays loss the winning rally will involve Rizzo, it always does, sets it all up so the pitchers have no choice but to pitch to the big guys.

Alpha - Kevin Mather - build the Mariners. career ruined by betas, but this is his revenge, laughing at the betas as they calculate their run differentials.

Charlie - enjoys bongos and is polite to the umps.

Alpha vs Beta, Alpha always wins.

5-1 gets them there IMO

Maybe you meant 5-0. Those losses early in the season are going to hunt them if they didnt make it. What a waster. I still dont get it what the front office saw on Montoyo.
