I agree. What do you think of the lineup though? I don’t want a Dickerson/Grichuk platoon leading off and I’d probably move Bichette out of that cleanup spot.

 

I’d probably put Marcus back in the leadoff spot and Bo back in the 2 spot while Springer is out... Kirk 5th, Lourdes 6th

I don’t think Montoyo wants to move Semien out of the #2 spot. That’s why we’re seeing Dickerson. Vlad also struggled in the #2 spot so Montoyo is being weird about it.

No issues with Dickerson. Been a solid pick up. But there is no defensible rationale in my view for giving potentially more at bats to him than other better hitters we have. He should not be leading off.

Gurriel should lead off if they want to keep the middle of the order intact. At least Gurriel is swinging the bat well and has shown he can hit well high in the order in the past.

This. It even fits with Montoyo's stupid don't mess with what's working mantra. Bo has been pretty bad since the beginning of August so moving him to a new spot isn't going to mess with a hot streak he's having. And I'd rather have cold Bo Bichette leading off than going full Ned Yost and putting your worst hitter there.
