Tampa might rest some regulars but it's not like any of the players are going to turn the switch off right before the playoffs and then try to turn it back on. They'll play hard

I can't think of a worse way to have your season end. If they win even half of those games they are comfortably in a WC spot.

And if the Jays record against Boston reflected the run differential, they would be comfortably in a WC spot. And if the Yankees played the Orioles like the Rays did, they would be challenging for first in the division. Every team has these what-ifs.

Although the Rays only went with 4 bench bats in comparison to the Jays 6, and their every offensive player in the current lineup has at least 260 PA's this year. I understand your point though. Also the Rays have 3 full days off before their game 1. There is no need to sit anyone.

Yeah, Maddon said Ohtani isn't pitching again this season, I believe Tanner Houck's pitching Saturday for the Bosox. Connor Greene likely starts tomorrow against us, so basically a BP game as you mentioned.
