Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Montoyo's poison touch again. Every decision he makes is blowing up.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Montoyo manager of the year candidate
DevoW Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Ok Apparently Berrios told Montoyo he was "out of gas" after his 88 pitch day Either he's covering for bongoboy or its legit. Either way its f***in s*** show.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Shut the f up...no one cares about legit concerns, it's the dumb, troll comments. I hate the trolls too. I'm not a troll but if a guy shows any concern about the game he gets jumped on for being a doom and gloomer or whatever. I don't need people here telling me how to fan

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Ok Apparently Berrios told Montoyo he was "out of gas" after his 88 pitch day “La Makina” out of gas after 88 pitches? Romano doesn’t pitch either game when we have offdays on Monday and Thursday? What is going on?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Of course Riley Adams is f***ing us. Lets have Hand blow the game today to put a nice bow on that turd sandwich of a trade It doesn’t feel good
spats Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Montoyo gets excused for a lot of things. The man plays a mean bongo and believes in his players. It's amazing he's not getting any heat from the media. If he was managing the Yankees like this, he would be run out of town....in Toronto he gets a pass.

Tsn will barely cover the team since they dont own the rights. Who else is left?
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Of course Riley Adams is f***ing us. Lets have Hand blow the game today to put a nice bow on that turd sandwich of a trade Nice foresight. What the hell was Montoyo thinking having Hand face the heart of the order? Unbelievable. And no Dickerson in the lineup against the righty? What a brutally managed game.

That's true. The guys in the booth rarely question a decision...but even the print media is easy on Montoyo.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Don't worry, the Jays are about to get into their bullpen. Nats should be able to open up a sizable lead soon enough. Lmao. It's beyond predictable at this point isn't it? I would've used Romero for the heart of the order in the 7th... No common sense with Chuckles.
spats Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 The only good news today is that Merryweather pitched a scoreless inning for Dunedin today.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 I would expect Montoyo to use all the big arms today, so there’s a good chance we win this one You gave Montoyo too much credit:p
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Author Posted August 19, 2021 Lmao. It's beyond predictable at this point isn't it? I would've used Romero for the heart of the order in the 7th... No common sense with Chuckles. Haha... Romano.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 No idea why i continue to watch this crap when montoyo actively tries to destroy this team. It's staggering what a s*** manager he is. He makes Cito Gaston look like Nostradamus
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 You gave Montoyo too much credit:p Yeah... Romano has to be injured or something. No other reason to not use him in either game
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 I just turned the game on now. This guy brought Hand in to protect a lead? Not just that, with a lead and a guy on base. I think Montoyo actually thinks Brad Hand has swing and miss stuff. Let's just bring in the junkballer to face Soto and Bell... What could go wrong?
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 For Montoya not to look ahead and assess that his best LHP option in Mayza would be needed in the seventh, which could have been set up if he allows Berrios to pitch the sixth after 88 pitches is inexcusable for a supposed MLB manager. Chuckles also thinks that Hand is a better option over Mayza most likely. It's especially staggering considering that Berrios was brought over to be a front of the rotation, workhorse type arm. I mean for godsakes, at least let the guy start the 6th inning and have a quick hook if he was concerned. This was a must win game and there was so many different angles to the managing that left me scratching my head. It's f***ing do or die time and this knucklehead is managing with no urgency whatsoever... Valera batting 6th. You've gotta be kidding me. I'm speechless.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 I mean to plays devils advocate, a lot of managers do save their closer for the 9th. Montoya didn’t go out and target Hand as the high-leverage savior we needed. Wash’s “heart of the order” isn’t anything scary. We literally just have a pile of meh RP to get to a decent closer that walks too many guys
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Also, wtf Jack Morris... imitating an Asian accent while talking about Ohtani, ON A BROADCAST... is he seriously so dumb? It's called satire. Stop being so sensitive.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Haha... Romano. lmao I guess Ricky's Baseball Central hosting performance has seeped into my unconsciousness.

We literally just have a pile of meh RP to get to a decent closer that walks too many guys Soto and Bell are the heart of the lineup and pretty much the 2 guys you gotta manage the bullpen around. We've all seen enough of Hand by now to realize he's not the guy to roll with during the most crucial moment of the game. Montoyo made the same mistake against The Mets when he didn't put the attention that was needed on Alonso. Charlie has 0 in game instincts, it's insane.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Going with Hand here.... We need Merryweather and Pearson back now.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Holy f***, I can't deal with Montoyo's s*** anymore.

Left hand pitcher pitch left handed batter, good! Har har - Charlie
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Brad Hand DFA'd after this game please.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Brad Hand DFA'd after this game please. There’s no way they DFA Hand. Just traded for him and he’s making a decent chunk of cash
