Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Don't get your panties in a bunch you self-righteous twats. I just said (in more words) of course he's going to deny everything (whether he did it or not). And that's when we rely on evidence to tell the rest of the story.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 It's an opinion, Spanky. Plenty of people disliked Bauer before this incident, even more will now. Of course some of his teammates won't want anything to do with him. Remember, a heavy majority of Dodgers said they don't want him back on the team. They also lost to the Braves in the NLCS, so...

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 (edited) Update - Trevor Bauer has been placed on a week-long administrative leave by the league, as first reported by MLB Network’s Jon Heyman (Twitter links). The leave will run from March 13 to March 19, and Bauer also won’t report to the Dodgers’ Spring Training camp prior to the 13th. Major League Baseball is still considering whether or not to issue a suspension to Bauer, as per the MLB/MLBPA’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Speaking of shams: Grand Jury rejects literally every single claim about D.Watson lol. Wow
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Speaking of shams: Grand Jury rejects literally every single claim about D.Watson lol. Wow I haven't been following this, but it's only shameful if there was compelling evidence that the claims were true and the jury ignored it. I don't see any of that being leaked, so we can't really say.

I don't see any of that being leaked, so we can't really say. If you can’t secure an indictment, that’s pretty bad. In this day and age, nobody is ignoring that stuff. The civil lawyer is quite clearly an ambulance chaser. Stormy Daniels lawyer level
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I'm on the opposite side, I'm a big Astros fan. I love how they've grown most of their own superstars and now have been a force for the last 5+ years Angels are a good call. They're the most pitching starved org on the planet and Bauer is from LA. Bauer Ohtani Syndergaard Sandoval Suarez Lorenzen Also not bad Looking back on this, it would be a pretty sweet set up, with Ohtani going every 6 days and Bauer going every 4, the back end with Lorenzen could be used as a high leverage multi inning reliever SP/RP in between Starts also. I think, anyway.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 As I've said all along it seems like his playing days in the MLB are over. Might be able to catch on in an independent league or over in Asia.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 The next step is getting the suspension thing figured out. The Deshaun Watson trade market has gotten hot again… if I had to guess who was the worse situation, it’s prob DW
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 yeah, I expect we will see him again, just probably not with the Dodgers. The minute his suspension is figured out / done I wouldn't be surprised if he and the Dodgers worked out a deal to release him from his contract. Dude wants to pitch so he can audition for the next contract and he's only really under contract for next year anyway.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 *if ever again* Doesn’t sound like Dave Roberts ever said that
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 As I've said all along it seems like his playing days in the MLB are over. Might be able to catch on in an independent league or over in Asia. The league can't just put him on administration league forever. They have to make a decision whether to suspend him. They know if they suspend him that he will appeal. He will just say he engaged in a consensual acts and he wasn't charged with anything. If he an arbitrator rules in his favour the Dodgers have to DFA him to get rid of him. You don't think there is at least one team out there that will take Bauer on for league min for 2 years on the Dodgers dime?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Yeah while buyouts are very rare, and mlbpa usually doesn’t allow them, I’d assume it could be in play here. Idk
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Suspension will need to get figured out first. I’m sure they’re (mlb) going to be pushed on making a decision

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 So if he was found of no wrong doing.. what does the MLB suspend him for? Being accused?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 So if he was found of no wrong doing.. what does the MLB suspend him for? Being accused? Personal conduct policy. Yeah
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Doesn’t have to necessarily be illegal if it reflects poorly on the league. Pretty sure that’s the policy
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Personal conduct policy. Yeah Yeah, but what he did was in the privacy of his own home and his version of what transpired could be very different than hers. Now he may have lied to the MLB in his interview, but how can they prove anything? This one's a slippery slope for the league. They can't bully a suspension on Bauer like they may have on others because Bauer is a fiesty mofo and will appeal any suspension handed down on him.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 TODAY: Bauer’s administrative leave has been extended another month, through April 16 (Jorge Castillo of The Los Angeles Times was among those to report the news.) The timing ensures that Bauer will miss at least the first week of the regular season.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Why does MLB continue to extend his administrative leave? Have they not had sufficient time to conduct an internal review? Sounds like a witch hunt

The Iceman Verified Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Dodger players voiced last year that they did not want him around. IMO if he is not traded he will sit.
