That pitch to Gardiner was not a good pitch. Gardiner has no power and can't catch up to a fast ball. You never throw a slider down and in to a LHB, it's too risky as it's easy to drop the barrel on it. I don't know why young pitchers are afraid to use their fastball, especially when they throw 95+

Instead our manager who is bullpen obsessed just cannot resist getting that bullpen in the game as soon as possible. Poor guy thinks we are the Tampa Bay rays. We have a trash bullpen, stop relying on them so much. Force your starter to get a couple extra outs.
