Jaysareus Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Maybe it's time to convert Tellez to a pitcher. Or sign Jose Bautista as a pitcher
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Riley goes 1 for 3. HR and 2 K's A few feet short of being bang on.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Cant lose as many BP arms as the Jays have and do s*** all about it. Gotta get some BP help.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 I thought Springer would play in AAA tonight. It's tough seeing him seemingly do everything you need to do on a baseball field and he's not playing.

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Shame to see the Jays lose after the brilliant performance from Ray. White Sox absolutely DESTROY lefties, so watching Ray mow em down was truly a thing of beauty. Pretty cringe-worthy to see Thorton come into the 8th, but I guess there's not really many other options. Definitely a game full of missed opportunities. A reminder that although the team is talented, there's still a lot of inexperience and lack of fundamentals... Can one point blame to Montoyo? I dunno, I really hate his in-game management so I find it easy to use him as a scapegoat. I'm honestly still not over the Chatwood/4 walk Indian game display and don't know if I'll ever be. All and all, a really fun game to watch anyways. As a viewer at the end of the day, it's all about being entertained and this game delivered.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Feels like injuries really catching up the the team especially the pen.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Tough game to watch slip away. Ray was so good. After Vaughn homered I didn't expect the pen to hold that game within reach so I watched Castlevania on Netflix. Weird cartoon sex scene towards the end of season 3 and now my wife thinks I'm an even bigger nerd. Basically flipped from the baseball game straight into Hentai. Thanks, Netflix.

I switched right after that homer for the same reason. Finished episode 1 of the MTV Challenge reunion to stay consistent with subjecting my eyes to absolute garbage.

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Baseball is so hard. Andrew Vaughn, insanely good college hitter and #3 overall pick, is hitting only .230/.312/.412. Did you all see the pitch he took out? 96.6 mph, almost a perfect pitch on the outside edge of the zone, probably wouldn't have even been called a strike.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Faaack, well hit, tip your cap. Tough one there. I don't think you can put that on Montoyo, it wasn't even a bad pitch and the velocity was there. A good pitch. Don't blame Ray for that. That wasn't even really a mistake. 97 just off the plate and low Baseball is so hard. Andrew Vaughn, insanely good college hitter and #3 overall pick, is hitting only .230/.312/.412. Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Vaughn is a slightly above average hitter for the season, and the bat is right around where it was projected. The interesting piece is he has been acceptable in the OF, probably already a better OF than Eloy who he replaced.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Sucks vs RHP Sure does so far. HOFer v. LHP though
