BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 So happy for Jansen. Poor kid been struggling so hard.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Danny's now batting 1 for 2 .500 with the nerd glasses. They have to stay!
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Guerrero is SO f***ING GOOD. Incredible vertical range on those trash throws from his bum infielders and incredible "standing" range on stretches and picks. His only weakness is playing off the bag sometimes but he already has to be one of the most dynamic defensive 1st basemen in the league right now. Only question is do they try him at third one more time?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 New glasses. He probably misses his old glasses...
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Author Posted May 2, 2021 Only question is do they try him at third one more time? Absolutely not. He's coming into his own as an incredible defensive player at a new position, all while endearing himself to fans and other players around the league as the new mayor at first base. There's nobody on this team that has the flexibility he's displaying on picks and likely nobody with his vertical range on bad throws. That's important on a team with terrible arms at 3B and SS. I'm also a big believer in having players as comfortable as possible. A long time ago I was one of the biggest proponents on here for moving Edwin Encarnacion off 3rd base because I believed his defensive woes were negatively impacting his offense. Whether or not that was true with Edwin and whether or not it could be true with Vlad, I would not mess with something that is absolutely working in every facet at the moment.

He can become an average 3B imo or an elite 1st baseman. Why mess with something that's working. That doesn't mean he can't play there in an emergency situation but that's all it should be at this stage. It's on our management to find a 3rd baseman either with Groshans or through a trade long term.

Brunt did a great 1/2 hour SportsNet show on Edwin. I was thinking about it this am regarding what Biggio is going through. Edwin was very candid about how badly the "E-5" issues affected him at the plate. Attributed a lot of his success to moving to 1B/DH. I hope they don't mess with Vladdy at 3B again, unless its in a pinch in a game.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 That’s twice today Springer has had trouble getting out of the box. Apparently that's how he hurt his quad yesterday by getting his cleat caught in the batters box. Somethings wonky about his first step when exploding out of the box right now.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Was Bo hot dogging? Yup, MLB the Show is getting to his head. Should have been at 2nd lol.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Was Bo hot dogging? Yeah, but it may not have mattered anyway.
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 According to Buck.....9 quadrants in a strike zone so there's actually then 36 locations in strike zone?

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 If this team keeps this patience approach the offense is gonna be elite.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Dammit... teo's hit the ball hard twice.
